I decided a few weeks ago that it was time that I moved with the times and treated myself to an MP4 player. As a part-time dance teacher I have to cart about an inordinate array of CD, tapes and CD players, along with all my dancing gear, so I decided to buy myself a decent player and docking station so I could put all my dancing music on, therefore reducing the amount of stuff I carry and also saves me leaving important CDs at home! Whilst browsing for a suitable player and docking system I stumbled across this in my local Boots store, it was reduced to £39.99 and I had enough advantage card points to buy it, so I asked the sales assistant for a little more ... Having recently purchased an Ipod 120gb ClassicRem (see review) I decided to purchase a docking station. I looked at a number of different docking stations and decided upon the Gear4 Houseparty 3 from Argos. The most important aspects to me were the fact it had a remote control so I could control my Ipod from the comfort of my armchair and the fact it charged the Ipod too. But for the £45 or so I paid for it, it is so much more than I expected. The sound quality is excellent and can be turned up really high with no distortion to the music. I was bought this device as a birthday present and I can say I have been very happy with it so far. The House party three is a stylish speaker system from gear4 that features a slide out iPod dock, auxiliary input socket and built in FM radio. This dock looks great, the black speaker plastic, grey speaker and blue LED lights give it a modern look. The dock pops out of the speaker when it's not in use. When you are using the device red LED lights display what mode you are using and what volume it is set too. This device is designed primarily for the iPod series of mp3 players. I have used the IPod Classic and touch varieties with this device and ... Read the complete review

I have very little fault with this product. For starters the loudness is often superior to all other docks I have experienced and at the highest of volumes is still able to retain audible sound quality. I bought this particular speaker to ask as our 6th form common room audio system and was impressed. It filled the surrounding area with sound without a problem and worked with all models of ipod (including the latest nano). What was also particularly impressive was its ability to widstand a fair amount of abuse. Despite being bashed around it never once had a hickup. Another great feature which was useful was the ability to control the ipod menu bases system remotely. ... Read the complete review
