Advantages: Great looks, Ipod , Aux port, FM tuner, remote control
Disadvantages: Poor sound at loud volumes
I was bought this device as a birthday present and I can say I have been very happy with it so far.
The House party three is a stylish speaker system from gear4 that features a slide out iPod dock, auxiliary input socket and built in FM radio. This dock looks great, the black speaker plastic, grey speaker and blue LED lights give it a modern look. The dock pops out of the speaker when it's not in use. When you are using the device red LED lights display what mode you are using and what volume it is set too.
This device is designed primarily for the iPod series of mp3 players. I have used the IPod Classic and touch varieties with this device and both work fine. There is an auxiliary input though so you could play other devices through the speaker.
For its size the speaker can get pretty loud and fill a room with sound. However the louder it goes the poorer the quality of the sound. For just putting background music on this is a great device. For providing the life and soul of a house party it is maybe not so good.
The device relies heavily on the use of its small remote control. This is good until you lose it ... I have found that the remote doesn't work with my touch which is a let down, though it does work with my Girlfriends iPhone! Peculiar! I think the range of the remote is about 2-3 meters which is sufficient enough I believe.
Overall this is a very good speaker system and I recommend it to anyone.
Summary: Overall this is a very good speaker system and I recommend it to anyone.
