      Very helpful

far too expensive for what is a poor sounding set of speakers.

For my home PC I use the Hama E200 Multimedia Speakers which sit either side of my monitor. The speakers have clean lines and give a strong output although they have just 2 Watt of power. The 200-18000Hz bandwidth gives a good range to suit all activities on the PC and the silver finish is something different to my home computer setup of just plain grey and black.

The speakers attach through wires, and one of them has both the 'Power' and 'Volume' controls. The LED light between these buttons indicates whether power is on or off, and there is also an input for headphones which is handy. At around £40 these speakers are by no means a cheap option. Personally from my experience I just rate them as a set of basic speakers to boost the power of the monitor volume. The design is quite stylish, but nothing groundbreaking or a thing of beauty, but the simplicity of their look is refreshing.

As I always suggest, I am a big fan of Hama as a brand and they have given me a number of good buys, but these dont live up to those heady expectations, and I would suggest looking lower down the price scale - even for a higher quality set of speakers. The sound quality is dissappointing considering the expense, and for this money I would expect a better sound. This product is by no means the undoing of my relationship with Hama, but I expect more of them, these speakers must be avoided.
