The satellite speakers are equipped with phase plug drivers. A solid wood subwoofer for deep, rumbling bass perfectly complements the satellites' pristine treble and medium frequency playback. The subwoofer driver is protected by a metal grid and bass reproduction is enhanced via a long, large bass-reflex tube.

XPS Black series speaker kits come with a versatile infrared metal remote control and docking station. The remote control allows users to adjust volume and bass levels, and includes Mute and On/Off buttons. The XPS 2.101 Black remote also controls the treble level, while the XPS 5.101 Black remote sets the level of the rear satellite speakers.
