Over the last year I?ve started to use my computer more and more, with both work and ciao and the like. Despite having a CD-Rom drive I always played CD?s on my Hi-fi and it wasn?t till I moved it downstairs for a bit that I considered using my computer, as like most computers these days it came with software to play CD?s. Since then I haven?t stopped using it and also now save on batteries by listening to the radio through the Internet whilst I work rather than from my radio as well. Don?t ask why I didn?t think of this before!! So having received very basic speakers with my computer I decided to see what was available in the market to improve the sound levels. ... I originally bought my PC about 4 years ago, and until recently, the only things that were left from the original specification were the keyboard, case, and speakers. A few months earlier, I had treated myself to a nice Creative Soundblaster Live! card, and also a nice Pioneer DVD-Rom drive, and so if I was going to watch DVD movies, or listen to my Cd collection, something would have to be done about those speakers. While walking through Dixons one day, I noticed these nice big speakers sitting on the display shelf. They had the one feature that I had been looking for in a set of speakers which was an earphone socket on the front. Funnily enough, although ... Read the complete review

I have a set of 1070 speakers that I bought about 2 weeks ago and basically they have brought the audio capability of my PC alive. Before that I had a little pair of un-amped speakers that broke up if you put too much power through them. Now I have my Labtec 10-70's, nothing can phase my PC! I have great audio booming out of these speakers at home so that I can listen to cd's while I work and excellent surround sound for when im playing my 3d games. They are about 12 inches tall with a rather unusual design. They have grey cloth fronts hiding away the tweeters and mid range while large ports in the middle let the bass pour out freely and ... I use PC Speakers for my CD player because I find that for my style of music (rock) these are much better than hi fi's and those wooden speakers because they are not too bassy and they usually have treble/bass controls. I wire my PC Speakers to my Phillips CD player headphones socket and this is how I like my music cause I can crank it loud without worrying about too much bass distorting and ruining the music. Now before today (when I got these speakers from Dixons after researching on the net), I was using Creative 5 watters, these were great but had lost some sound quality after 2 & a half years of use (cranking music loud). So I decided it was time ... Read the complete review

I bought my computer almost a year ago but I never actually used it for music until the last couple of months. Being a student, which means shortage of cash, but at the same time wanting a decent set of speakers for my PC I went out in the shops prepared to try everything. And I did, or so I think. There are a lot of PC speakers out in the market right now, ranging from £15 (for the very basic) to several hundrends of pounds. I decided to buy a pair of Labtec Spin70 speakers after they were demonstrated to me by a friend. Having seen the price earlier, I did not expect that kind of quality of sound to come out of these two quite small ... Read the complete review
