I purchased my ipod classic towards the end of last year and have had loads of use from it both using it with headphones and linking it up to my surround sound system. However when the summer months began this year I though it was such a shame that I couldn't share the music with friends at bbq's etc so I started the search for some portable speakers!
Wow, what a minefield ipod speakers are! They seem to range in price from £15 to over £100! I did a bit of research asnd was told that Logitech was a good make so I started looking at their products and came across these speakers.
My first impressions of the speakers were that they were quite bulky but they do come with a protective case which has all the right 'holes' so you will only need to remove it to change the batteries. Although bulky the build quality is very good.
I wasnt expecting great sound quality from a small white box but I was blown away! The sound quality was awsome and didn't distort when cranked up to higher volumes.
These speakers come with a remote control from which you can turn the speakers on and off, skip tracks and adjust the volume. The remote is quite small though and there is no compartment in the protective case to store it in so it could easily get lost.
On the rear of the speakers there are three connections:
1. Video out to connect to your tv
2. Line in
3. Connection for mains charger
Due to the fact that these speakers also double up as a docking station they charge your ipod aswell when it is connected.
One of the downsides is that the speakers require 6 AA batteries. I have had many hours of use and have not had to change them yet but I would recommed investing in some rechargeable batteries if you are going to use them a lot as the batteries could get quite expensive!
These speakers vary in price greatly so if you decide they are the ones for you then shop around! I managed to get mine for £35 on Ebay but I have seen the advertised at over £70!
Overall these speakers are great value for money and I would highly reccomend them!
