More than capable of waking your neighbors (Logitech S-200)

Advantages: Packs a punch for a small and cheap product

Disadvantages: when VERY loud, you can hear slight distortion, but then its only a small box

My friend actually gave me these speakers (came with his latest PC)
And i must say, i know they aren't the most expensive or tasteful speakers around, put they do pack a punch!

I used to sit about listening to all that "crap" teenagers listen to through my 25ish year old desktop speakers, and since i've had this little "setup", it's mad such a change.

The amount of difference i heard just from this sub-woofer was amazingly noticeable, i had a big smile on my face the first time i heard it, ...finally ....something to really wake the neighbors with!

The bass is projected through the woofer since it has a bigger speaker to deal with the lower notes, whilst the mid and treble is controlled by the two smaller speaker's. Since you've added the bass speaker, the smaller speakers have less to work with making the quality much greater.

I'm unsure of the price this set fetches, but i'm certain you would be pleased with the quality of the sound it produces.
A good comparison of this would be like switching from your everyday TV set, to a nice sparkly HDTV version.

If you do not own a similar setup and you enjoy your music/films/video's, i urge you to buy this/a similar product, it's so worth it for such a small amount of money.

Summary: If you dont have a similar setup, you MUST get one.
