Advantages: 140watt maximum output, good sound quality, can be wall mounted, rather cheap.
Disadvantages: not wireless so the wires could get in the way, no remote control.
I bought these Logitech P.C theatre speakers a couple of months ago for my University room. You might think that is over the top but I totally love my music and couldn't help it.
I bought the speakers from P.C world for only £36.00. How did I get them that cheap? Well I reserved the speakers online for £39.99 then I went into store with my 10% off voucher and got them for £36.00. This was a total bargain as they are being sold for £74.99 in currys and £39.99 on Amazon.
The speakers are very heavy when packaged (9kg) and 8kg when unpackaged. In the box there are four satellite speakers, one centre channel speaker and one subwoofer. The speakers are made of thick plastic, soo thick that I don't think they would break easily if you dropped them, so they are good quality.
These speakers can be used on many media items and games consoles e.g. xbox, ps2, mp3 players, ipods, mobile phones, keyboard, Laptop etc. I mainly use the speakers on my laptop, keyboard, mobile phone and mp3 player.
Setting up the speakers is pretty easy as the speaker's cable are colour coded on the end to tell you were it goes on the subwoofer. Even if you are not a technical person you would still know what you are doing as you plug each speaker on the back of the subwoofer according to its colour. If you get really stuck in setting up the speakers, the manual is always there to help you out.
The only problem is that the Audio cable (the one which has white and red on the end and has a 3.5mm jack on the other end) is not provided which allows you to use the audio adapter which is provided in the box. The audio cable is pretty important with these speakers for the reason that all the speakers won't work at the same time without it, therefore will not be able to produce the maximum 140watt sound. Some audio devices with the 5.1 soundcard might enable all the speakers to work, if your device doesn't have this all you need to buy is an audio cable with a 3.5mm to plug into the headphone jack of your device.
The speakers can be wall mounted so I have actually put three of the speakers on the wall and the other three on my desk. However, before you can wall mount the speakers you will need to rotate the stand of the speaker first so that it goes on the mounting position. Rotating the speakers is rather easy, although they only rotate one way (to the right hand-side).
The cable on the speakers are pretty long, I would say the cable is about two metres long on each speaker except the subwoofer (which has a smaller cable). The sound that comes out of the speakers when connected is phenomenal.
The subwoofer totally rocks, and handles the bass very well, you can even turn up the subwoofer volume to increase the bass without any distortion. However, I must if the song you are listening to has too much bass the sound could get distorted, to avoid this you just have to turn down the subwoofer volume.
The speakers have a 3.5mm headphone jack for personal headphones. I have found this useful when I want to listen to my music around midnight or early mornings when my housemates are still sleeping.
I will definitely recommend these speakers to those who love music. As a University student I have found them helpful as my laptop doesn't produce enough sound. The speakers are loud enough to fill up a whole house and you could still hear them from outside. The two year guarantee totally gives me a peace of mind though I am not covered against accidental damages.
Of course these speakers would have been better if there were wireless and had a remote control but for the price I got them for, I wouldn't really complain. The speakers looks good and produces excellent sound even when you connect them to something as small as an I pod shuffle.
==Note==
--- The speakers only come in black and cannot be bought in any other colour.
---The speakers come with a two year manufacture warranty (does not cover accidental damages).
---The speakers do not have a microphone jack.
---The nominal output of the speakers is 70watt but the maximum output is 140watt.
---They can be bought from many electrical shops but I recommend that you check amazon and PC World Online before purchasing anywhere else.
Summary: Good quality speakers which can be wall mounted to produce a great theatre sound
