A bargain set of bass heavy, super-powerful speakers (Logitech X 530)

For around £50 you can have yourself fantastic 5.1 surround sound with these Logitech x 530 speakers. What you get are 5 satellite speakers; 4 to go in the various corners of your room, one to sit in front of you. As well as this you get a small, but not insubstantial subwoofer unit. The speaker sitting to your right contains the on/off switch, a knob for adjusting the volume and also a port into which you can plug a set of headphones. The subwoofer has a knob allowing you to adjust the bass level.

I originally bought these speakers for my newly built desktop computer, and found setting them up a tad difficult. This is because the colour coordinated jacks on the speaker wires didn't match those on my motherboard, but after a bit of playing around I cracked it. Since then I've moved off to university and now use this speaker set with my laptop. The speakers connect easily and have the added benefit of being able to fit inside my suitcase; they are nice and portable.

With regards to performance, these speakers are powerful. Offering 70 watts of power, you dare not turn the volume up full. If you do however then the sound quality is perfect and without the crackle you might usually expect from lesser quality speakers. The subwoofer manages to displace a lot of air, creating powerful, powerful bass. The only issue I have with these speakers is that the wires are not shielded and so pick up electrical interference and sometimes foreign radio stations. This isn't a major problem however.
