With my set of 2.1 Sony speakers going busy, I quickly found myself in the market for a new pair. The problem with something like Speakers is that if you are bothered about your sound quality and not very wealthy, like myself, then there are a number of competitively priced speakers, but no idea which is the right one to go for, For me ... I have had the Logitech x-540's a few months to accompany the new computer i have just built and am extreamly impressed. They were my first proper set of computer speakers other then the cheap 2.0 ones you can sometimes get, and i am chuffed to bits with them especially for the price i got them for £40!!! ~~~ SURROUND SOUND ~~~ The product is a 5.1 surround sound speaker system. I have never actually fully understood the definition of 5.1 but after a bit of research I learn that 5.1 is actually a version of surround sound. 5.1 is also a standard and the most widely used surround sound configuration. Essentially this means ... Read the complete review

Green/Black/Orange connectors for full 5.1 surround sound from your PC, or use the provided "games console adapter" to use the red and white RCA audio output from your Xbox or Playstation
Worth remembering that these are PC speakers, and so the cables arent massively long, so probabl aren't suitale for your living room. They are however, perfectly ample for an average bedroom.
Each speaker can be swiveled on its stand to allow it to stand either upright on a desk, or at 90 degrees to the bass for wall mounting. The centre speaker mounts well ontop of a flatscreen monitor.
Definately worth the £50

I originally purchased them as I am a very big fan of Logitech and the price was decent. Upon recieving them and using them I'm actually a little bit dissapointed though. Sometimes ... I bought this set of speakers, primarly for console gaming (XBOX 360, PS3 etc.) and was a bit dubious over the stero output from the XBOX 360 (red and white phono/RCA cables) being able to deliver surround sound. I was wrong to worry, and they do deliver an amazing experience. The thing you will be using mostly if you are a console ... Read the complete review
