      Very Powerful Speakers

These speakers are generally good for any computer/laptop. They also are the loudest speakers that I've ever experienced. Admittedly they aren't as loud as music speakers, but still, they have been loud enough to get a few neighbouring students dancing in the corridor. I will say these speakers are quite big, and whilst they are nice looking, I guess the size of them slightly weakness their image. I had mine for about 3 years and then they suddenly cut out on me, which was unexpected and disappointing. I'm not entirely sure whether this was their fault or due to me installing new computer software. The sound quality is very good as you would expect with logitech and on a whole I would recommend these speakers. Since then I have purchased some new smaller logitech speakers that I feel are better looking albeit at the expense of not being quite as loud. In conclusion I would recommend choosing alternate speakers to these such as the :LOGITECH LS21 2.1 Speaker System which are available for around £20 online. If you're looking for something very loud then don't pick these. But I will emphasize again they are fairly loud with the sub, because I like my music LOUD and they don't disappoint me.

A perfect peice of technology that will compliment any PC / Laptop

After the death of the HiFi a few years ago I bought these speakers to compliment my PC / Laptop for when I went to Uni. The sound that comes out of these speakers is perfect - rich and clear. I have never had an ipod so unfortunately cannot compare it to ipod speakers however I can't speak highy enough of them!! I've had them since 2006 and have not had any problems with them so far (touch wood!). They are sleek, stylish and the colour black goes with most screens / laptops / PC's. The range of volume is tremendous with 3 inch woofers and 1 inch tweeters on each. This is great for parties or if you're just chilling listening to music. This is set up also with USB connection so really saves on the wires which can be a pain with speakers / computers / hard drives all on one desk - mine is small enough anyway! Some speakers have huge subwoofers which take up alot of space in the office/bedroom but with this it is unnecessary! This comes with auxiliary input (as most do admittedly) so that you can plug in headphones and listen to music or whatever privately or if it's late at night! At approximately 5kg this isn't too heavy plus with all the technology involved i'd be worried if it was lighter! I bought my speakers at Staples for £80.00 but believe they have gone down in price since - this is available in all good audio retailers. ...the technical bits... The speakers have a built in amplifier with both high and low frequencies (bi-amplification) using both tweeters and woofers. Furthermore this is a truely clever piece of technology with touch controls and presets for radio stations. There is a small LCD screen which shows what track you're playing (artist and song title). Output wattage: 30 watts Max Output: 60 watts Size: 9.7 inches tall / 4.5 inches wide / 4.7 inches deep Finally the bass is incredible! Turn it up!

These speakers do everything and more you could expect from them!

{~~~Introduction~~~} I bought these speakers as they were reduced to £40 from about £90. I didn't need any but I found these "irresistible". I love technology and couldn't turn these down due to their touch screen, LCD display and the fact that the sound is transmitted via USB. {~~~Packaging~~~} These speakers are packaged neatly in a rectangular box, minimising the amount of cardboard used. There is also sufficient insulation so there's no need to worry about the speakers being damaged too much during transit if you are having them delivered. {~~~First Impression~~~} My first impression was certainly very positive. The glossy black colour of the speakers really make them look fantastic! And they don't look cheap. They are quite heavy and because the cables are all tied up it is a bit fiddly removing the speakers from the box at first. These were heavier that I expected but this isn't a bad thing at all as I never move them anyway. I was pleasantly surprised to see that a cleaning cloth is included! {~~~Design~~~} The two speakers in this system are connected by a dingle cable which is located at the back of each speaker. Each speaker is embellished with the black glossy look, along with a round 1-inch tweeter at the top and a 3-inch woofer. The main speaker functions as the control centre as it features an LCD screen on the front along with controls. If you have the speaker system connected via the USB cable, the LCD screen can display a manifold of useful information, including a clock, a computer performance monitor, a countdown timer, a POP3 e-mail monitor, and--most importantly--artist and track names. However, the last of these features only works with the most common and popular media players such as Windows Media Player and iTunes. However, this shouldn't post too much of a problem for most people. Even if you use a different program to listen to your music, you'll still be able to listen to it, however you won't be able to skip the track or see the track and artist name displayed on the LCD screen. You will still be able to adjust the volume! There are several touch-sensitive buttons on the main speaker which control several functions including volume, mute, play/pause, track skip and forward/back. I'd like to repeat that only the volume buttons will work with less popular music programs. The touch-sensitive buttons will most definitely take some getting used to. I was getting quite frustrated at first, but I know how to use the buttons properly now. I definitely think that regular buttons would have been better in pragmatic terms, but they wouldn't look as stylish as these touch-sensitive ones. A remote control would have made a great addition, but nothing is perfect and I'm really happy with the design of these so far. {~~~Setting the speakers up~~~} Clear instructions are provided showing you how to set the speakers up. A software CD is provided for the LCD screen, however installation of the software is not compulsory in order to get the speakers functioning; you just will not be able to make use of all of the features available. You have the option of transmitting the sound via the USB cable, via the 3.5mm audio jack or both. The cables necessary are all included. However, the audio cable may me too short. This shouldn't be a problem as longer ones can be purchased online for a pound or so. If you decide to install the software, you can display the song name, CPU usage, time, analogue clock. Not all simultaneously of course! Furthermore, the software allows you to use the controls to forward, rewind the song from the speakers themselves. But these interactive features only work if the software is installed and the speakers are connected to the PC via USB cable. I currently have the AUX cable connected to my Playstation 3, and the USB connected to the Desktop PC. {~~~Using the speakers~~~} The main thing I use the interactive speakers for is adjusting the volume. The Bass and Treble can also be adjusted from the speakers themselves in case you are wondering. One thing to note is that if you adjust the volume from the speakers, the volume becomes adjusted to the same level on the PS3, unlike most other speakers where the volume can be controlled separately on the PC and the Speakers: this happens because the USB connection allows the speakers to communicate both ways unlike audio jack which just transmits audio to the speakers. The AUX input is on the back of the main speaker, and has a small plug in it. I couldn't find it at first and it took me half an hour to find it. This is also great for plugging in your Ipod of mobile phone. The audio output port is located on the left hand side of the main speaker for those who want to listen through headphones. The speakers so get quite hot during use but this shouldn't pose a problem. (p.s. main speaker=one with LCD display) {~~~Appearance~~~} The speakers really do look great on my desk with my desktop PC. They look very expensive and stylish. However, because they are glossy, they do show fingerprints and dust easily. But Logitech have been kind enough to include a cloth, which goes to show you are purchasing from a company which has clearly thoroughly tested their products over a period of time from a consumer's point of view. The backlight is orange and looks quite cool, complementing the glossy black finish very well! {~~~The Sound~~~} Please forgive me as I am no audio technician. However, I can confidently state that the sound is really rich on these speakers and the bass is adequate enough for the majority of people. These speakers do go really loud so great for all those who enjoy listening to their music. Just be careful you don't cause yourself hearing-loss! :P {~~~Final thoughts~~~} I'd say I am very happy with my purchase overall. The novelty has far-long worn off. However, I'd definitely recommend these if you can get them for a good price. I rarely use the interactive features, but enjoy the LCD screen which is very informative.

A great set of speakers with good sound quality and an LCD display

I've been using my Logitech Z-10 speakers for about a year and, apart from a couple of quirks, I really like them. They are a lot heavier than an average set of powered speakers, and taller too. However, they have a small footprint and fit comfortably on my cluttered desk. One of the key selling points for me is that there isn't a subwoofer, which means one less trailing cable and box to find a home for. The speakers are nicely designed; the glossy black with silver trim should match most modern computer equipment. Setup under Windows XP was very straightforward, although the odd placement of cables (captive mains to the left speaker and captive USB to the right) could cause a bit of a headache depending on the layout of your desk. Sound quality is excellent. The volume goes up loud enough to fill a reasonably sized room without distortion, and although bass and treble settings are provided I've never needed to alter them from the default settings. A small caveat of using the speakers' USB soundcard is the loss of ability to record from stereo mix (for example, recording streaming audio from the internet). I've never been able to find a way around this. The line in port can be used at the same time as the USB connection, I've used it with the headphone out from a netbook and line out from an iPhone dock and both work fine. The touch-sensitive controls on the right speaker work well. By default, the display can show a clock, system performance, a countdown timer controlled with the buttons on the speakers or a media display which works with most media players (although unfortunately not Spotify). Other programs can be downloaded from the internet. Very few are written specifically for the Z-10 but many of those written to work with the LCD display on the Logitech G15 keyboard will also work. In conclusion, this is a great set of speakers. Sound quality is good, and the LCD screen and touch sensitive controls are nice extra features.

        Great sound and stylish

Logitech speakers tend to be pretty expensive but I manged to find these on Amazon marketplace for £27. I use these speakers for my main desktop PC. They are quite compact but they give off high quality sound. They can go very loud for such small units. I use these speakers to watch films and play games which they really excel at. They can handle the range of deep bass of explosions to the softest classical music. In my experience, the bass does not overpower the rest of the sound, which is essential whilst playing games. One of the main selling points is the design of the speakers. They look really sleek and modern and fit in perfectly with my black LCD screen. Then of course there is the touch screen interface on the right hand speaker. Using this you can control the volume and even skip tracks. It is very simple to operate and is thankfully very responsive. An LED screen on the right hand speaker displays volume levels and even track information, which is useful to glance at. Text is displayed in an orange font which looks good and is clear, but unfortunately the colour can't be changed. The speakers are connected via usb so installation couldn't be easier. Overall, they are a great pair of speakers for desktop PC use.

Loses one star because the scrolling information no longer works on mine :(

I got these speakers last year at a bargain price of 40 euro online. I was astonished to see the exact same model for 120 euro in currys! I wasn't looking for anything powerful or top notch. I just wanted good looking speakers to stand beside monitor and was over the moon when these met my expectations and exceeded them. The sound is phenomenal on these. I have actually turned to watching tv series on my computer instead of the tv because the sound it superb. I would have a small office, it's only about 8ft of a box room and I think because the walls are so close the sound bounces around the room and has a great affect. Not sure if you were playing these in a large sitting room though. It has a socket where you can plug in your mp3 player and use them as speakers too. They have a touchscreen glossy surface which really shows fingerprints so they do need a lot of cleaning to get shiney all the time. Sometime I have to press the buttons over and over to work which can be annoying. I like how it has scrolling information of the song name and computer ram being used on the screen. However after plugging the speakers out a few times i cannot get this feature to work again. They weren't dropped or anything and I can't understand why it doesn't show this information anymore but it's annoying because it really topped it all off. Anyway even though there are some flaws. You will love these speakers and they are well worth the price, as long as you don't pay over the odds. Do shop around.

Recommended to any one looking for some great looking & sounding speakers

I bought these speakers to use with my laptop. I love listening to music and my laptop sound quality and volume just aren't up to scratch. The Logitech Z-10 speakers are a huge improvement. Firstly, they are very sleek looking, with a great design and colour scheme. The touch screen works great, making it very easy to adjust any settings. The settings are very simple too - the speakers are pretty much plug in and play. There's no real setting up required or complex instructions to go through. The settings enable you to adjust volume, bass and treble, which allows you to get the most out of anything you're listening to. For example, I listen to a lot of 60s/70s stuff and some of the albums are pretty poor quality by today's standards, which makes them sound somewhat tinny and muffled through laptop speakers. The Logitech speakers allow you to play around with the settings, making certain music sound a lot better. The sound quality is amazing. When I'm watching a movie with speakers at each side, the sound and overall atmosphere is great. The sound is really clear and crisp, not at all crackly. The volume is good too, which means you can put some music on in one room and still hear it clearly in others, whilst doing the housework or something. The speakers are quite heavy duty. They feel quite sturdy and durable, but if you want to move them around a lot they are pretty heavy with a couple of thick wires. They are also quite pricey, but after a couple of months of using them, they seem well worth it. Overall, they are a fantastic addition for any one looking for some speakers for a laptop or desktop computer. They provide great quality sound, are very easy to use and nice looking too.

Great quality mixed with innovative features for a good price

The logitech Z10 speakers are a 2.0 speaker system that connects via usb, and have there own "sound card" intergrated in. I bought these because i wanted a hight quality set of speakers, but i didnt want to have a huge collection of little speaker arrounfthe room as you get with 5.1 systems, i simply didnt have the space. The speakers themselves look realy good, and the shiny back finish looks great next to anything. The sound quality is amazing, great for gaming, movies and music, and they go realy loud, will easily fill any room. Because the connect via USB, they will produce amazing sound qualtity on any machine. And they dont need the computer to even have a sound card, which is great is you are building your own pc and are on a budget. The main gimmic with the speakers is the LCD sceen on the right hand one. This displays various widgets and information, such as clocks, equalisers, track information, volume levels, etc. its not particualy usefull, but its a good idea. the buttons underneith it are usefull though, and can be used to adjust volume and pause/play music. Overall they are deffinitly the best reasonably priced 2.0 speaker set out there

        Fantastic speakers!

These speakers have a beautiful, sleek design that will appeal to even the most style-conscious. They boast touch-sensitive multimedia controls on the main speaker itself with which you can change the volume or the bass level, play, pause or fast-forward the track, and turn them off. Even better, the sensitivity is so good that you merely need to hold your finger close to the buttons for it to work, avoiding ugly fingerprints and smudge marks on the glossy surfaces. The speakers are simple to set up as it is just a USB cable which connects them to the computer. The sound quality is excellent, with a wonderful range of mid-frequencies. However, the only available colour of information displayed on the LED screen is orange, and said screen is only present on one of the speakers, which may pose potential problems for those who want the speakers further apart. This has not caused any problems for me and personally i can find no fault with the speakers.

        Good PC Speakers By Logitech

The Logitech Z 10 are multimedia PC speakers with a built in active amplifier. I got these from a closing down sale at a PC shop last year and was listed as half price so I couldn't let the bargain go. I've now got them connected to my other networked PC and work perfectly. These aren't you normal type of PC speakers these have built in touch sensitive multimedia controls and a backlit LCD display. So just say you play a music track from your PC, the track information will be displayed on the screen of the speaker. The screen also displays a clock and also volume. The design of these speakers is quite executive, black in colour gives it a good look. As these are different from any PC speakers you have probably come across before, anyone who sees them will want to know more. As the LCD display is an excellent eye catcher, maybe one of the reasons I bought these. The sound these speakers produce is outstanding as these are quite powerful speakers for there size. Even without a separate sub-woofer these PC speakers produce excellent sound quality. Main functions and features: - PC multimedia speakers - Touch sensitive controls - LCD display - Digital clock display - 2 way active speaker system - 60 Watt (max output) - Integrated audio amplifier - Wired - 2 x right/left channel speaker (15 Watt) - 11.4 cm x 11.9 cm x 24.6 cm (WxDxH) - 2 years warranty Overall the Logitech Z 10 multimedia PC speakers are excellent speakers, right from the design to the actual sound output. These are a bit bigger in size than your usual PC speakers, but wouldn't still take much space on your desk. I bought these as mentioned before from a closing down PC shop for about £35, they retail at around £70. So am glad I got them when I did.
