Logitech Z 2300
Advantages: low cost
Disadvantages: over whelmed bass, need to adjust equaliser here and there
THX certified. really good for what you spend. I listen to all kinds of music and was very impressed by the dynamic range of these desk top speakers. I had to adjust the EQ settings on my media player because the bass was overwhelming. Once adjusted, the high, middle and low frequencies reproduced nicely. They also crank very loud without distortion. For gaming, if you prefer 2.1 over 5.1, they are the best. The floor rumbles and my heart can feel even those minute bass.
Mids are lacking a bit and the bass is a little colored until you adjust your EQ. I tried out the Bose and Altec Lansing 2.1 speakers in the same price range and they don't compare if you are much concerned on your pocket.I would recommend these to anybody that likes to listen to music at a reasonable level without getting overblown distortion from some more ordinary 50 level speakers. Don't be put off by 2.1 unless you are a gaming freak. Highly recommended to its competitors.
Summary: this would be good choice for gamers
