Newest Review: ... Excellent price for powerful sound system - Very loud and doesn't distort on high volume - Quality design, looks more ... more

... expensive than it is The Bad: - Sub isn't powerful enough - Can lack punch without a lot of tweaking - Isn't backwards compatible with my the Creative Audigy 4 without using the 'effects' button to force movie/music mode They pack a punch for the price, but just don't live up to the S750's. However at the reduced price (£350 vs £200) the prices scale quite well. I've heard that logitech support is excellent, but because the build quality is so good you'll never have to get in touch with them to return the product ...more

I love speakers, and the Z-5500 is my fourth set, and by far the most I have spent on a set, with them coming in at just over £250 on Ebuyer, however the process of receiving them took longer than desired due to awful service from Dell which resulted in me cancelling my order and as stated above buying them from Ebuyer. Now the speakers have been billed as the best that you can get for a PC and from my experience so far I have to agree, and I will give a quick breakdown review below. The overall system has 505 watts, where nearly 200 watts is dedicated solely to the subwoofer, and the rest is split pretty much evenly between the five satellite ...  Read the complete review

I have owned the Logitech Z 5500 speakers for 5 years and they have proved to be a fantastic set of speakers. I initially used them whilst at university to listen to music, which to be honest was a bit overkill at the time especially considering the size of the subwoofer! My misuse of the subwoofer caused me to receive numerous complaints from fellow residents both on floors below and across the halls of my residence due to the noise and the fact that the whole building I lived in vibrated when the subwoofer was cranked up. The system is a 500 watt system, 200 watts going to the sub woofer and the remaining 300 watts shared between the sattellite speakers. ...  Read the complete review

Logitech Z 5500 Digital: Enough bass to knock you socks off (295 words)

This is my second set of surround sound speakers the first being some KEF's powered by a Yamaha amp which is brilliant. Anyway I wanted some speakers for my bedroom that didn't cost the earth but did a good job of provideing surround sound from my pc and ps3. This system has a few connections but only one of each so to hook both my ps3 and pc which both use a optical connector I need a switcher box which wasn't expensive. The main problem with these speakers is every now and again the fuse in the sub blows and needs replacing. It has only happened to me once in about 3 years but I have read on the internet of people having the problem ...  Read the complete review

~ Intro ~ After many weeks of searching the internet and looking round stores like comet and Curreys for a surround sound system, I wasn't really any better off than when I started. The main thing that I had learnt from my experience was that websites didn't give you enough information on the products they were selling and store associates didn't really know all that much either. ~ The Setup I Wanted ~ My problem was that I had recently got a new HDTV and a PS3 - quite a good set up. So now all I wanted was surround sound to complete my little entertainment centre. So for this, I wanted some good quality speakers that I could plug ...  Read the complete review

Logitech Z 5500 Digital: Must Buy (250 words)

The Logitech Z5500 Digital is everything that you could ask for in a digital home theatre system for under £250. I bought mine from ebuyers in May 09' and cannot put a thing wrong with it. I bought this specifically for its digital capabilities. Owning a PS3 you get to use its optical out which enables for 5.1 Digital sound. This is very easy and quick to setup via the audio setting on the PS3 menu. Simple set it to Optical. The Logitech will then pick up the digital signal and you're off. I watch a lot of Blu-Ray movies as I am a subscriber to LoveFilm. If you manage to come across one that has a THX sound codec then the Z5500 really ...  Read the complete review
