Advantages: Great sound quality and lots of bass
Disadvantages: Cheap remote and ugly speakers
This is my second set of surround sound speakers the first being some KEF's powered by a Yamaha amp which is brilliant.
Anyway I wanted some speakers for my bedroom that didn't cost the earth but did a good job of provideing surround sound from my pc and ps3.
This system has a few connections but only one of each so to hook both my ps3 and pc which both use a optical connector I need a switcher box which wasn't expensive.
The main problem with these speakers is every now and again the fuse in the sub blows and needs replacing. It has only happened to me once in about 3 years but I have read on the internet of people having the problem regularly. I have since bought about 5 fuses from my local shop as they only cost a few pence each.
Onto the good parts, they sound fantastic for how little this set costs its is a bargain it fills the room full of sound and at a very high quality. The sub is very large so keep this is mind when it comes to installing but it pumps out a nice base which can be altered depending how you like it. It comes with a lot of speaker cable so placing speakers anywhere in the room was simple (If you call taking up carpet and moving bedroom around simple).
The remote control feels cheap and is very small but does the job which is simply turning up the volume.
This system does not sound as good as my separates system but costs 1/7 of the cost so all in all a good price and a good product I would recommend this.
Summary: Very good speaker set reccomended if on a budget
