NISIS EasySound S2 160 Watt PC Speakers
Advantages: Very loud and good quality sound, long cable, easy setup.
Disadvantages: Ugly, dated design.
At 160W, these speakers are very powerful and can only just about be classified as PC speakers. If you decide to have these on full power and sit close to your PC, you are in for a shock. No that I think of it, it does give me a good idea for a prank though.
The clarity of the sound from these speakers is fantastic, I really cannot fault it. I never claim to be much of a sound person, the majority of the time, most speaks sound the same to me and I cannot differentiate between the output of different speakers. However, with these speakers, intensity apart, I really can tell a difference. I prefer to use these speakers when watching movies for precisely this reason. I get to hear every gun shot, every tire squeal and every explosion with immense detail (Yes, I do watch some quite violent films).
Setup of the speakers is as standard as any other speakers. Simple take them out of the box and connect a couple of cables into the computer and wall and you are done. It couldn't really get much simpler. The cables are fairly long and therefore enables you the flexibility to not have them restricted to being close to your system - they can weave in and out of everything on your desk without you having to worry about the speakers not reaching to the place you actually wanted them.
My biggest disappointment with these speakers is that I see them as pretty ugly (Sorry about the oxymoron). They are pretty dated in terms of styling and colouring and they generally look pretty out of place on my desk. I have since replaced the speakers with some more modern ones and when looking I was astounded at how basic the design actually was. just a quick glance through the Argos book showed me some fantastic designs on even their most basic ranges which made my speakers look awful in terms of aesthetics. However, I am not really one to bother too much about styling and I prefer them to be functional, which they definitely are!
Summary: If you value practicality over prettiness, these are for you!
