Advantages: High quality and fuller sound with deep bass
Disadvantages: large power supply, some people may wish for a headphone jack?
For some individuals like myself, the thought of having a 3 piece speaker system seems a hassle. Then again how many 2.0 speaker sets have satisfied with high quality sound at a sub £100 price tag? -> not even a handful!
Cutting straight to the point, I bought these speakers, purely on some reviews, the need to have sleek speakers that could be used with different sources, all at a cheap price tag.
One thing to note, is I have never seen the need for a headphone jack with speakers? except with low end computer speakers. Then again, I pose the question. If you have speakers why use earphones?
The build quality is top notch. The speakers themselves come in a metal /plastic cabinet where each speaker stand has one tweeter, 2 woofers and 1 Subwoofer.
Sound quality is excellent and full. You will not experience earth shattering bass that overpowers the high treble without a proper mid range to give it that full sound, like with many 2.1 sets.
The bass itself is powerful but never overpowering, and the mid range is full.
One thing to note is the large power supply. While not exactly eye catching, can be placed or hidden away without much trouble.
In all, these speakers are just that, high quality items which you will grow to love. Highly recommended!

- 01/12/08 Good review. I am thinking of getting some of theses. Getting a new laptop and want some good speakers to sit on my desk. |
