I purchased these speakers with my laptop last September for use at university. All the cables connecting them together are of reasonable length allowing good positioning of the speakers on a desk. One speaker is connected to the mains supply with then a smaller cable coming of that speaker to the second. A standard plug in jack on a cable runs of one which can then be plugged into any standard socket on a laptop, computer or mp3 player.
