Advantages: Fantastic sound even at loud levels, good design, bass and volume control
Disadvantages: Bass control on back of subwoofer
General:
I love Philips products, in my house i have so many Philips products and they have always been great and look fantastic and these PC speakers are no different. They look great, sound great and will fit into any home computer system.
Price:
I bought them for around £30 new on Amazon and they arrived within two days. There are quite a few places these speakers can be bought. I think they are available at Argos, PC World and many other large retailers but i found that the cheapest prices were on Amazon and other internet sites. Pc World have them for around £40.
How they arrived:
They were packed very well. I opened the box and found everything that was surposed to be there. The two speakers, subwoofer, all the cables and a very simple instruction step by step guide to connect all the speakers and get them working.
Connection and operations:
They are so simple to connect with the two speakers joining to one wire which connects straight to the subwoofer. The power cable also comes from the subwoofer and the seperate power and volume control connects from the subwoofer with another cable from the volume control to the computer. The volume/power controler also has a headphone socket for easy connection of headhpones or other sound devices. The power button is a simple push button and lights blue with a LED when turned on. The volume is so simple as well. It is smooth to turn and easy to get hold of.
Design:
The speakers look great being silver and black, they look very modern and stylish. The subwoofer and volume control is also coloured silver and black to match the design.
As well as volume, the speakers also have a seperate bass control, this is on the back on the subwoofer but you don't have to use this much.
The wires are all of great length so there is no need to cram everything together.
The speakers also have detachable mesh covers on them. As soon as i turned on the speakers they worked great with brilliant high quality sound with brilliant bass even when it is not turned up fully. My last set of speakers when turned on made a slight buzzing sound from the subwoofer but these do not make any sound at all which i was very pleased with as i have a TV in the same room and with the last speakers i had to turn them off when i wanted to watch tv.
These are great speakers which product brilliant high quallity sound what ever your playing. I definitely recommend these to anyone looking for some new computer speakers.
