	Philips SBC BA250 ... ve had these for a couple of years - have used it for my personal CD player and my brother has used it for his laptop computer. I am currently using this for my desktop computer, and I have this running from the mains (can also run on 6 AA batteries). Not the loudest, which is understandable considering the size which, whilst small, is not what I could call mini. A stylish silver with blue set consisting of two speakers and an amp, the sound quality is good, with a cutting edge to it but there is also a bass boost to fill in at the low end with a dial to adjust the level of bass. My previous (albeit limited) experience of portable speakers has been pretty poor - they tended to sound tinny, distorted the music at louder volumes, and the batteries never lasted long enough. 	Philips SBA1500 ... you re looking for cheap portable speakers this is a pretty good option. the speaker set comes with two wired speakers and a subwoofer. the speakers are battery powered by two AA batteries and last for quite a long time. i bought mine back in february this year and they are still going! the sound quality is pretty good when hooked up to an mp3 player with or without the subwoofer, although i have noticed that when it is connected to a pc or laptop sometimes you get distortion when using the subwoofer but this isn t helped by the fact that without the subwoofer the sound from the speakers alone is not very loud. you can see for yourself that the speakers have been sty...
