I sometimes find that my laptop doesn't have the best speakers on it so the sound can be quite low when playing films on it. This is why I decided to look for some speakers to plug into my laptop but I didn't want really big and expensive ones, I just wanted some nice compact ones. I had never heard of the brand Texet but they looked like they were quite a good price for what they were and I liked that they came in different colours. Sometimes, it is worth taking a risk with buying things for the computer and so I added them to my basket and purchased these Texet G-18 USB speakers.
These are quite unusual looking speakers as they are like two spheres but they can either be in blue and black or orange and white. I opted for the blue and black as thought these would look a bit nicer, they come easy enough to install, you have your USB cable and then you have your speaker output cable. On the front of these, the black area they have the Texet logo and the boxed weight of these speakers is 240g so they are really light for speakers which is great when you need to move these around with your laptop.
G-18 USB SPEAKERS
To set these speakers up is really quite straightforward which I like, at first I couldn't get sound on them so had to restart the computer. I plugged in the USB cable into the port and then the audio output cable into the point where headphones normally get plugged in. This should then install the necessary drivers and you will know when these are on as you can see the blue light showing on them underneath. They look really nice when on and they don't look cheap and are nice and small as well which is great.
The back of these speakers has a power on/off button as well as a volume adjustment control which you can roll up and down. These speakers do go quite loud for small speakers but of course if you want a base etc then don't get these as they are what you pay for and they are not top of the range. They are literally just good speakers for audio output not for effects and any other advanced sound features. The speakers balance on a plastic base which looks quite nice but be careful as mine broke so don't stand perfectly anymore.
The speakers never have any problem and don't crackle at all, you just need to balance them on a table or somewhere safe and they will do their job well. These speakers work on all of the latest versions of Windows, my laptop runs on Vista and these installed fine. Both speakers have even sound coming out of each and I do find when watching films etc that these are a really good set of speakers. They look good and the fact they were so easy to set up is great as you can plug these into any audio device.
I always have them plugged into my laptop but you can plug them into any of your other computers and it will install right away. Apart from the base breaking on them there has been no actual problems with the sound quality and I have found that it is consistent. You can adjust the volume through your PC as well as on the reverse of these and they are easy enough to clean. The sound comes out from the bottom of them but it doesn't make the sound any worse and they are great for anyone looking for good, cheap speakers.
If you want to buy these speakers, Amazon are currently selling these for £10.94 with free delivery direct from themselves which is a good price and they are reliable.
