i bought this Trust 5.1 Surround Speaker Set SP-6800 from maplin electronics for £34-99 which looked to be a bargain. on returning home i connected it to my pc and only the front speakers would work. to ensure it was nothing to do with my pc i connected it to a totally different 5.1 system and it works perfect so the pc is ok.
so i wrapped the speaker set and went to maplins and they did not have any more in stock but another store a couple of miles away did so off i went with a credit note to the next store and i was supplied with a brand new unopened Trust 5.1 Surround Speaker Set SP-6800 great i was happy and problem solvedor so i thought.
back home again i unpacked the new system and set it it up switched it on i could not believe i had the exact same fault with this system as i did with the first one. i returned to maplins with the faulty item once again and just asked for my money back. i then bought Creative Inspire A500 5.1 Black Speakers for £48-89 from argos and they were simply plug and play which is what i should have done in the first place.

Summary: i guess you get what you pay for
