I was looking for some cheap speakers to go with my laptop, as my laptop's speakers aren't very good, and these ones were pretty much what I was looking for. The sound isn't shabby, it has a decent volume control and even a headphone socket so you can leave them plugged in, without having to take them out to put in your headphones.

The sound quality is good. Not noticeable distortion and enough sound to fill a living room or bedroom satisfactorily. There is a slight fault in that the wiring isn't very high quality. If the 3.5mm jack is moved slightly while plugged in, it can cause a crackle effect. Me and my fiancee were watching a film and every so often there would be a crackle. That was with nobody anywhere near the speaker wire. I'm not sure if this again was due to the wiring of the jack being weak and frayed, or due to the interference of other cables in close proximity with the jack. Either way it was slightly annoying, but not enough to ruin the film at any point.

If you're looking for perfect sound, then these probably aren't for you. But then, if you are looking for perfect sound, and you were looking at these, you are probably in the wrong price range. These are purely for those who have rubbish laptop speakers and want an upgrade so you can hear your music, games and films easily. Not bad, but not great.
