The novel is about a girl named Sara Crewe whose father loses a lot of money and is made bankrupt as a result. Sara used to have a fabulous lifestyle with great whealth but she now finds herself reduced to nothing and she now lives a life in poverty. A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett really is a beautifully written novel. It was originally published in 1905 and and is a children's novel. Considering the novel is over 290 pages I felt it would be a much better idea to buy it on audio CD for the children because they would likely to lose interest! I would really recommend this audio CD version of the novel if you have children or to give as a present. It is one of the great children's books in my opinion and is superbly written throughout.
