Advantages: Lovely story with repetitive elements to join in with

Disadvantages: Too much music on first story telling

My little boy really likes this book. I borrowed it from the local library as my son (then 5 months) has a dad really into trains so I thought it would be good to share. The story is about a little train that delivers goods but keeps having to stop to help out. It is a really nice little story. It is good for little children as it has several repetitive elements that they can join in with. The artwork is very interesting and older children will enjoy looking at the illustrations and picking out things they can see. He is now 7 months and still enjoys it.
I prefer to read it to my child than just play the cd to them but it would be good for older children who want to read with a bit of independence. Too much music during the first story telling for me though. I prefer the second one which just reads the story with a noise that tells you when to turn the page.

There are other little red train books so if your child likes train books it would be a good choice.

Summary: Lovely book for children who like trains.
