A beautiful end to an amazing trilogy

This is the third book in the trilogy named 'His Dark Materials'. You need to have read or listened to the first book 'Northern Lights' and the second book 'Subtle Knife' before you listen to this one. Like the first and second books, this one is enthralling and you wil not be able to put it down.

Like the second book this book flips between a number of worlds following different stories that interweave with one another. The story ends with lots of drama in this book and leaves you with a beautiful sweet message that makes you think about how you view life. Pullman has created a world that is so believable and the story is full of drama. Although the books were originally meant as children's books, the story encompasses huge themes such as religion, philosophy and the struggle between state and religious control.

I really cannot recommend any book more highly than this trilogy of books. They are my favourite books of al time and I am a big reader.

I originally read the books but the audio book, read by Pullman himself, is an amazing way to bring the story alive and I have not yet heard an audio book that was narrated better. Pullman has a great voice for audio books and is able to put passion and drama into his readings.
