It's not often that I will make a recommendation to Dooyoo, but I just had to do this one. I had already reviewed the book 'The Road', but then I listened to the audiobook, and I just knew it needed its own section. This audiobook is narrated by Rupert Degas. I had never come across Degas before, but his skills in narrating are second to none. The novel is very bleak, and Degas matches the tone of his voice perfectly to the narrative. His voice is chillingly sparse and devoid of emotion, which echoes the style of writing McCarthy has become famous for.
