After getting this audio book I have since seen the film so I'm glad that I did it that way as I think I would not have enjoyed the audio book so much if I had already seen the film. Time travel is one of those tricky concepts to get your head around, at least it always leaves me with lots of what if questions running through my head.

This romance is based around time travel as Henry the male lead is able to time travel, the love of his life is artist Clare who cannot not. The thing is that Henry is unable to control his time travel and he jumps from one period of his life to another, always arriving naked and needing to get clothes. He then is returned to his present day actual life again with no control, this means that he is able to travel back and meet a young Clare and fall in love again and also the bad side of time travel he gets to see and relive bad moments from his life right up to the death of his wife. While the concept sounds far fetched the audio book makes it all come together in a convincing way.

One technique they use is to have two different narrators to perform the roles of Clare and David as they switch perspective to progress the story line. Both do a good job of capturing their characters and with no over perceptions to relate to and having not read the book myself I bought ingto both characters, after seeing the film Henry is portrayed a little differently that the audio book version and hence I'm glad I listened to the book first.

I paid about £5 for the cd and this is a good listen, the narrators both have clear and lively voices and the emotion of their love and romance is well portrayed. It is not the greatest story I have ever heard but it is an enjoyable listen.
