Aveda Foot Relief
by dioraaz
This is a fantastic foot cream with multiple benefits.
The rich texture absorbs into the skin, which can also me massaged in to give yourself a little pampering, which will also allow the product to penetrate the skin deeper.
The smell is of Lavender and Rosemary oils, both of these scents have relaxing and calming ... properties. This will also remove any odour from the feet.
The best part of this product is that is has exfoliating fruit acids (these do not have granules), which help to reduce hard skin and dry patches.
This product worked well for me after a shower when my feet were still damp. I would massage it in and then put loose socks on so that it would last longer on my feet. I would massage it into my legs too to get rid of fatigue and to refresh the legs. After application my feet felt cool and moisturised. When I woke up in the morning my feet felt a little dry but then reapplied and got the comforting feeling back for the whole day.
Feet don't feel so dry and feel refreshed after a month's use. Use this product also after you have exfoliated the feet to allow deeper penetration.
As this is an exfolating product, I recommend during the day to apply an SPF over the treated areas, to protect you from the damaging rays of the sun especially if you are exposing your feet.
This product has been voted best foot cream and is used by Gwyneth Paltrow too.
You can purchase this for £16.50 directly from www.aveda.co.uk where you can somtimes get free gift/samples or go to your nearest department store that stock Aveda. Read the complete review |

Aveda Hand Relief
by LadyS
It is worth buying this product just for the comedy value of the name alone - you definately get raised eyebrows when you say to your friends that they should take advantage of hand relief in the bathroom - sorry, I know, cheap joke, but does work every time.
Bad comedy aside, this product is great for dry skins or hands in ... general that work hard. Just like its companion product Foot Relief, which I have already written about, this is a really rich cream which is lovely to apply. The cream is easily absorbed into the skin and leaves your hands feeling instantly softer without being at all greasy.
The product does have a strong fragrance though - like many Aveda products the smell is very "herby" and whilst the Foot Relief has just the right mix, I must admit I find it a bit overpowering in a hand cream. The fragrance also lasts for quite some time - great if you love the fragrance, not so great if you don't.
Price wise, well at £16ish for a 125ml tube from the Aveda website, quite a lot for a handcream, and although it really does work well, the fragrance does put me off from buying it again, when there are lots of lovely smelling creams out there. If you do have very dry hands though, it would be worth a try just for the moisturising effect and you can try a 40ml tube for £5 - you never know, you may just like it! Read the complete review |

Aveda Foot Relief
by LadyS
Like most of us, I always tend to try and look after my feet a bit more in the summer time when they stop being hidden away by tights and boots and are shown off in all their glory in summer sandals and flip flops (of course by then it is too late really, as I should really have been taking good care of them all winter so they will be ... in tip top condition for the summer, but I never learn...)
I love this product - as it really does work! It is really thick cream from a tube, which is very soft and just lovely to use - the cream just absorbs so easily into the skin and really feels like you have just slipped on a lovely soft foot glove (if such a thing existed!). For such a thick cream, it is amazing that it absorbs so easily and doesn't leave your feet sticky at all.
As always with Aveda products, this product has a great smell - this overall effect is definately "herby" - a great mix of lavender and rosemary. Fab for first thing in the morning to get your feet ready for the day.
Unfortunately, the other thing you can bank on with Aveda is that the products are pricey - £16ish or there abouts depending on where you buy it, but it is a lovely product, and if you are ashamed of your toes then well worth it.
Now, don't get me wrong - this cream doesn't instantly transform your feet after months of neglect, but what it does do is to start the recovery process so that you are not so ashamed of your pinkies in your strappy sandals. I think probably if you did the sensible thing and applied it every day through the winter as well, you probably would end up with perfect tootsies, but as I haven't ever done that, can't promise perfection but I think it would be worth a good bet!
