... only downside is price - all Aveda products are quite expensive. Still, you can be reassured that they are good quality. And there is a certain pleasure in buying expensive luxuries for oneself, and making yourself feel valuable enough to spend money on yourself. It is unlike most conditioners and I liked it very much. But, like with all haircare products, whether it suits your particular hair type or not is quite hit and miss. Since this is too expensive to buy on a whim if it isn't perfect, I suggest ...more

Aveda Colour Conditioner: Blue Malva - amazing! (276 words)

If you have blonde or grey hair and you want to get rid of brassy or yellow tones this is an absolute must. Not only is it highly effective at correcting colour, but it's also an excellent conditioner too. I have very white blonde hair that, like most blonde, can get yellowish - which i do not like one little bit. Before I discovered Blue Malva my solution was to attack it, once again, with the bleach. Now I just use this and hey-presto! nasty yellowing bits are gone. I must admit I don't follow the directions on the pack (but then I rarely do with anything) - I usually kleave this on for an hour or two, or even overnight. Not that I would recommend that anyone ..  Read the complete review

Hair caviar?! Clove Colour Conditioner (433 words)

I asked my Mum to get me some of this next time she passed the shop. I'd heard it was excellent for enriching red, brunette and black hair, left it shiny, tangle free and smelling dreamy. I couldn't understand it when she came back and gave me the tube of conditioner with a face like thunder. I looked at the receipt and soon discovered why... it cost £17. Seventeen whole pounds for a conditioner! I ask you! Of course I had to give her the money, and she asked me if I was going to use it on my hair or spread it on canapés and pretend it was caviar... Such a dry wit, my mother. I wanted to smother this all over once I smelt it, but remembering the ...  Read the complete review

Aveda Colour Conditioner: Wonderful (274 words)

I get my hair coloured every eight weeks at my hairdressers and inbetween visits this conditioner is my SOS product. It disguises my roots and replenishes any fading ends. It comes in many different colours (Madder Root which gives a red tone, Black Malva which enriches dark colours etc). And it does actually change the colour of your hair, I've seen it used to create temporary streaks in light shades of hair. Clove is predominantly for brunettes, my shade is a chestnut brown with blonde highlights. When used, it gives a rich depthness and a beautiful shine and doesn't leave a build up on the hair. I've always had quite fine hair and have always ...  Read the complete review

Bold But Not Brassy: Blue Malva Colour Conditioner (331 words)

Aveda's Blue Malva conditioner was sitting minding its own business on my best friend's bathroom shelf when I walked in to have a shower. Not having my own conditioner, I boldly helped myself to a squeeze from the tube. The colour is amazing. It is sort of a light lavender colour, slightly blueish. It isn't what I expected, and I looked at it anxiously before lathering it on to my hair. I sniffed it - a delicate herbal aroma, understated enough that it rinses out well and doesn't smell too pungent afterwards. Unlike many conditioners, this one is not too thick. Just a small amount went a long way - which is lucky, because once I got ...  Read the complete review
