Advantages: lovely colour and excellent conditioning
Disadvantages: none
If you have blonde or grey hair and you want to get rid of brassy or yellow tones this is an absolute must. Not only is it highly effective at correcting colour, but it's also an excellent conditioner too. I have very white blonde hair that, like most blonde, can get yellowish - which i do not like one little bit. Before I discovered Blue Malva my solution was to attack it, once again, with the bleach. Now I just use this and hey-presto! nasty yellowing bits are gone. I must admit I don't follow the directions on the pack (but then I rarely do with anything) - I usually kleave this on for an hour or two, or even overnight. Not that I would recommend that anyone did this without trying it the 'proper' way first, I would hasten to add.
Although this does add colour, it does it through plant extracts. There's no chemicals so no damage to hair, no re-growth etc. I usually suggest that anyone trying one of these for the first time has some Aveda Detoxifying shampoo to hand - then if you don't like the effect you can always wash it away.
The conditioner moisturises rather than restructures. So someone with very bleached hair or highlights (this is great for brightening up highlights by the way) would need an additional, protein-based conditioner to perhaps alternate with the Blue Malva.
Oh - and if you're lucky enough to be going to America, or know someone who is, pick this up over there. It's half the price it is here
