Advantages: Light Hold, No itching

Disadvantages: Sticky if you use too much

I am one of those people who doesn't like to use a lot of styling products, I usually just wash and condition and let it dry naturally. But I have found that if I do want a more controlled style this styling gel is actually quite good.

This comes from the Aveda protien range which stengthen and protect your hair. It belongs to the same family as Shampure and Curessence, these are easy to spot as the all come in the cream coloured bottles.

I use it when my hair is wet, it gives a smooth, light hold finish.
It is a clear fairly liquid gel, with a pleasant plant smell that is typical of Aveda.

I only use a little, warm it in my hands and apply it starting at the roots.
A word of warning...If you use a large blob or don't distribute it evenly you can get sticky patches once your hair is dry.

I haven't tried it on dry hair, but a friend with wiry, curly hair uses it on dry hair to refresh her style.

It is described on the bottle as a conditioning fixative.
Unlike many gels and mousses it isn't full of alcohol and doesn't dry your hair out.

It is made with natural plant essences to condition and wheat and nut protiens to strengthen.
It provides protection to your hair while blow drying.

I also find that as it is made with pure ingredients I don't get any itching from it. Some gels in the past have made me wonder if I had nits!(I don't by the way).

The main ingredients are Aqueous,Extracts of Sarsaparilla Root,Coneflower,Flax Seed,Rosemary,Lavender,White Oak Bark,Peppermint,Aloe,Glycerin,Wheat protien,Brazil Nut Protien.

The cost is about £12.00 for 250mls.
I have a 50ml trial size that came with some other Aveda products, and it has lasted more than two months using about once a week.

Aveda is widely available now, from salons, mail order, internet.

Thanks for a good op on this product. I use this as well as Phomollient (depends on what finish I want on my hair)! Looking forward to reading some more of your ops. Well Done
