Advantages: Soft, silky hair, smells great, a little goes a long way

Disadvantages: Initial cost

Have you got the worst-behaved hair in the entire world? No, you haven't because I can tell you here and now that this most dubious of honours belongs to me. It's mine, all mine!

Or rather, it WAS mine. Nowadays, though, I can toss my silky mane with the best of 'em.

How did this miraculous transformation take place? Why, by the mighty power of Aveda Curessence, of course!

Get yourself down to your nearest Aveda stockist and pick yourself up a bottle of this conditioner if you, like me, have dry, frizzy, heat and colour damaged hair. And if you're worried about the price and whether it will work or not, buy one of the mini-sized bottles - costs only £4, but lasts for ages, also great for taking on holiday - and give it a try.

The first thing you notice when you open the bottle is the usual gorgeous Aveda scent. This one includes rosemary, peppermint and lavender, plus a special conditioning ingredient called Morikue protein.

You only need to use a 10p piece-sized amount of Curessence if you have shoulder length hair. It won't hurt you to use any more, but it's unnecessary and the less you use, the longer the bottle will last and the farther your hard-earned pennies will go.

Because this product does not weigh down your hair like most other conditioners, you may feel, as I did at first, that it isn't working very effectively. Don't let this fool you - when your hair is dry it should feel wonderfully soft and silky.

You're advised to work the product through your hair and leave it for approximately 2 to 5 minutes before rinsing. I always wait for the full 5 minutes which makes a huge difference to my dry and frizzy hair.

Aveda products are available from some branches of House of Fraser, the QVC shopping channel (www.qvc.co.uk) and certain hair and beauty salons.

Go on, try it. You'll be tossing your hair like Jennifer Aniston in no time a
t all.

They definitely are good, Michelle. I'm still using this one and it's still working well.

Very good op. I have never tried Aveda products, but they sound wonderful.

I'm afraid that only your own hair counts. You're not allowed to borrow anyone else's, including that of your cats, just so that you can have something shiny to put on your mantlepiece. ;-)
