Although this is called an exfoliant (which in effect is what it is as it is removing the dead skin cells from the surface and cleansing the pores) it is what is commonly known to most people as a toner. It comes in a dark green glass bottle and the smell is totally and uterlly divine - very fresh. I have combination skin so it works well for me, I use it either morning or night and combine with another different (cheaper) toner literally because I believe if you use one product continually your skin gets too used to it and doesn't repond as well as it should (just my theory). I really liked this product until I saw the high level of alcohol it contains - which surprised me because Aveda are renowned for quality ingredients. Alcohol, as we know, is bad for the skin - it hardens it and can cause a lot of irritation. This exfoliating toner contains fruit acids to help exfoliate the skin, and I must say that it does work. it has a fresh light smell and wasn't, for me, at all irritating - although it does have a warning not to use it on the eye area. It's supposed to be for all skin types, but I would say that anyone with any degree of dry skin should stay well clear and it is effective in drying up excessive oiliness. It does seem like a ...
