Advantages: Fab smell, none greasy, made skin look youthful
Disadvantages: Expensive, i have to travel to manchester to get mine
You wouldn't have believed i'm only 27 from looking at my hands. They are always dry and wrinkly looking. The area round my cuticles is usually red, cracked and sore. This is partly due to washing up, but mainly due to the fact that i've never really taken care of my hands. Then whilst in Aveda buying some delicious smelling shampoo i saw a travel size of this and decided to give it a go.
What Aveda say:
Incredibly rich moisture therapy soothes dry, chapped hands--leaving them noticeably softer and smoother. Hydrating plant emollients, humectants, exfoliating fruit acids and anti-oxidants--including vitamins A and E--help diminish signs of aging and provide optimal relief.
How much is it and where can i get it?
I bought the travel size which is 40mls for £4.89. The regular size is 125mls and cost £15.17. To be honest i prefer having the travel size. It's easy to throw in my bag, have in the car or gym bag. I'm not sure i'd be as likely to carry the full size around. I bought mine from an Aveda stand in Selfridges but aveda have a website that does mail order www.aveda.co.uk and they have stand alone stores and salons in most major cities.
What did i think:
The first thing i noticed when i unscrewed the lid was the smell. I got a real burst of lemon. So much so that after applying to my hands i couldn't stop smelling them. Best of all the scent lasted and really was a pick me up. The texture is very rich, thick and luxuriant. That being said i didn't find it at all greasy and my skin just drank it in. As soon as i applied my hands immediately looked in better condition. Again they weren't greasy but almost glowed with healthy radiant skin. I also found that after regular usage for a week my skin genuinely improved, as did my cuticles. Gone was the red and cracked skin and here was real young and well conditioned skin. Finally hands that suited my age!
How i applied:
You can apply this whenever you want. I have become a little of a hand cream addict, so i apply at every opportunity. I always apply after washing my hands, after washing up and after the gym. It's great to carry in a bag and although it is not cheap you only use the smallest pea sized amount and that really does both hands. The travel size lasted me over 2 months, and like i said im a REGULAR user.
Great little cream to have with you. I wouldn't be tempted to buy the larger size, probably more likely to buy mulitple travel sizes then i am never without this miracle worker that has given me my hands back!
Summary: Lovely hand cream, a real luxury item but well worth the cost
