... Aveda's natural, non-chemical, moisturising, caring non-detergent base. Add to that the pure plant aromas (each of the Aveda shampoos smell fantastic - Black Malva is reminiscent to me of sweet licorice) and the cocktail of herbs and plants in each bottle, your hair will thank you for natural goodness. It rescued me from the effects of a disastrous salon treatment a few years ago, imparting my frazzled mop with soothing moisture. Nowadays, my hair is shiny and healthy and despite being very long, I don't eve...more

Crowned Review Aveda Pure Plant Shampoo: Best Shampoo Ever! (454 words)

Because you're worth it.. :) After trying just about every shampoo on the market, I converted to Aveda Pure Plant Shampoos - Black Malva being my favourite - a few years ago and have never looked back. Not one to be a fuddy-duddy, I have tried samples of new shampoos from other brands once in a while just in case, but have never been impressed. If you want moisturising, if you want volume, if you want fantastic fragrant hair but without nasty chemicals or synthetic fragrance - Aveda shampoos are the only ones I would recommend. You may balk at the £8 pricetag when you may have been used to paying £2-£4 on a supermarket/chemist regular shampoo, but it is ...  Read the complete review

I first encountered Aveda hair products a few years ago when I could not work full time due to ill health and developed an addiction for QVC the shopping channel. The nice thing about QVC is that they give you tons of information on the products. After an hour with Alison Young (the QVC beauty expert) it became obvious that my daughters and I had been depriving ourselves all these years. We must immediately try these products! We waited for our first parcel with bated breath. We had ordered a trial pack of the Aveda Colour shampoos. There are five of them in the range. Blue Malva (supposed to be the business for grey or ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Aveda Pure Plant Shampoo: Shampoo with a Mission (492 words)

I first started using Aveda shampoos a few years ago when I was them advertised on QVC. Since then their popularity has grown and they are widely available from salons and online. What attracted me to them was that they use pure plant ingredients, that are organically grown. No petrochemicals in their products. Sensible packaging that can be recycled. Unlike other shampoos you choose this range by your hair colour, rather than hair type. The reason being that different herbs and plant essences will enhance your natural hair colour. Clove.. This is for brown and dark blonde hair and will enhance honey tones. Red Malva.. For ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Clove Shampoo (291 words)

The Aveda pure plant shampoos are best used in conjuction with the colour conditioners (£16.00 for 200g), however they do not work in the same way. While the conditioners will change your hair colour, the shampoos will just enhance the colour you already have. For instance, my hair colour is chestnut brown and I have blonde highlights. If I used the Clove colour conditioner, my highlights will be disguised so that they are not visible. The shampoo however will enrich the colour of my brown hair but will still leave the highlights visible. I think that although this shampoo seems expensive it really does last a long time, I have long hair, and an amount equal to the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Aveda Pure Plant Shampoo: Designer Hair Care - by a bloke! (377 words)

When I first told my mates I’d paid £20 for a bottle of shampoo they looked at me in awe as if to say “do you realise how many pints that is?” But slowly but surely they are coming round to the idea of why looking after your mullet isn’t so much an expensive business – especially when us blokes need to be looking our best! Walking into House of Fraser I knew what I wanted before I went in. So when the girl asked if she could help me I had no shame in saying I wanted the one litre size of Aveda Camomile Shampoo. She was only too obliging and as I paid my £20 I gained the reassuring feeling that my hair would never be the same again. ...  Read the complete review
