Advantages: Natural properties, gentle cleanser

Disadvantages: Herbal fragrance

97.47% pure botanical elements; now that has to be good for you in some way. And I sure can say just what way this cleanser is good for: the gentle cleansing foam lathered from plant and flower extracts gets rid of the dirt and impurities on the skin's surface. The skin is ultimately left feeling clean and fresh, as well as soft. According to Aveda's website, this cleanser is said to contain chamomile, lavender, rosemary and vitamin E etc. Since this is an oil free product, it should serve well for those with combination or oily skin.
This cleanser has the shelf life of 24 months; and since it's "only" 150ml you should end up work your way through it fairly quickly (in any case, no where near 24 months). I certainly did.
Since I was already rather familiar with the chamomile and lavender fragrances, I did not find the overall smell of this product in any way unpleasant. After all, lavender and chamomile are used in numerous products to subdue various skin troubles. However, I have to admit that they do have a distinctive fragrance which may not be so pleasant for some. Hence, I would recommend you have a sniff briefly before actually buying this product.
The texture of this product is not sticky, just barely more viscous than its toner.
This cleanser does not rub very smoothly without water so always follow the instruction and add water. It lathers easily although it does not produce copious amount of foam. This cleanser easily washes out eye shadows and lipstick; however, it does requires a fair bit more rubbing for mascaras and hence may end up irritating the delicate eye area.
The best quality of this cleanser seems to be the aftereffect on the skin. This cleanser seems to lock the moisture in the skin so that your skin does not immediately start to dry off right after cleansing. This comes in handy especially in the morning when you need that extra bit of moisture on your skin for easy make up application. Nonetheless, this may not be the best cleanser for those fond of squeaky clean after feel.

Summary: Basic cleanser that is naturally moisturising
