Advantages: Gave body to my hair

Disadvantages: TOO SMELLY!!

Firstly - a confession - this review is going to be a two-in-one review. As I use the Rosemary Mint Shampoo with the matching conditioner, I am not clever enough to work out whether the way my hair feels afterwards relates to the shampoo or the conditoner, so I will comment on both of them at once!

Aveda is well known for its hair care products, and as such I have tried quite a few of their shampoos and to be honest have never really been bowled over by any particular one. However, ever the optimist I thought I would give the Rosemary Mint one a try in the hope that this one would live up to its reputation.

As a shampoo, it is actually quite runny when it comes out of the bottle, so you tend to end up wasting some which is never a good thing. It does lather up nicely and is easily rinsed out not leaving a residue. The conditioner too is quite runny, but I don't mind this as much in a conditioner and find it easy to run through damp hair with my fingers.

The proof of the pudding is of course how your hair feels afterwards. Well true, my hair does seem to have a bit more body, but probably not noticeable to any one other than myself. My hair does feel nicely conditioned though and not dry at all, but no noticeable increase in shine which I would expect from a premium band shampoo with a price tag to match (almost £10 for a 250ml bottle)

As you can probably tell, this shampoo/conditioner has not lived up to its hype for me, and I haven't even got to my main problem with this - THE SMELL!! For me, the rosemary and mint is completely overpowering. I think a shampoo fragrance needs to be subtle, and not something that is going to clash with my perfume which this shampoo seems to. For me, Aveda have gone completely over the top with this fragrance, and I will certainly not be trying it again.

Summary: OK Shampoo, but certainly not worth the hype or the money
