Aveda Smooth Infusion Conditioner

I have a few sample bottles of this product and I also have the shampoo from this line (previously reviewed) and it is a really nice product. I have only tried a couple of Aveda products (at home and at the hairdressers) and I really like the brand and the quality of this products in this range - smooth infusions.

- About the product and the scent

I have a few sample bottles of this conditioner which can be bought from House of Fraser and I really like this line and the fact that they make sample/travel size bottles. The scent of this product is really similar to the shampoo in this line - although I would say that the scent of the conditioner is a tiny bit stronger and more herbal than the shampoo. The scent is herbally but it still remains quite fresh smelling which is great, in my opinion. This scent is like something you would find in a Lush store but this scent is more toned down and sophisticated.

- Using the product and results

I used this product after I had washed my hair with the shampoo which is from this line - I think the combination of the shampoo and conditioner from the same line boosts the scent in my hair (but not by much unfortunately) and for the OCD in me, I like having a matching set of shampoo and conditioner too. I use a lot of conditioner and as with shampoo I go through it quite quickly as I have really long (and fairly thick) hair. I use about a £2 coin sized amount of product and I start at the ends of my hair and work upwards to the midlengths and finally the roots. I concentrate most of the conditioner in the ends of my hair as they are the most damaged and prone to breakages. I also apply a lot of conditioner to the midlengths of my hair as my hair is really long and I then apply whatever is left on my hands to the roots as my hair is dry all over unfortunately.

Once applied all over my hair, I then use my fingers like a wide tooth comb and comb through all of my hair from the ends to the midlengths to the roots, this makes sure that the product is evenly distributed through my hair - and it detangled my hair too. I then rise this conditioner out and it really does not take long to rinse this product out which is a good thing when considering time but if you rinse this product out too much then I find it can leave the ends of my hair a bit tangled and not as conditioned as the rest of my hair. When my hair is wet , it is fairly detangled although the ends can be a little bit tangled if I have rinsed my hair a bit too much. My hair is smoother, softer, a bit more manageable and sleeker - but not really weighed down when I use this product. Although I do need to work a smoothing cream just through the ends of my hair after using this product (when my hair is damp/wet, to detangle and smooth my hair). Overall, this product is really nice but it is not as conditioning as I thought it would be and it is just not as conditioning as I need this product to be - also it does not get rid of frizz/tangles completely and the scent does not stay in my hair - even when I use the shampoo in this range and then the conditioner.

- Price and availability

I have a few sample bottles of this product and they can be purchased from House of fraser for £4.89 for a 40ml bottle. The full size bottle of this product is 200ml and it is priced at £18.50 at House of Fraser which is really overpriced in my opinion and I will not be buying this full size!

Conclusions

Positives

*Easy and quick to use
*Rinsed out quickly - although if I rinse out the product too much then my hair can go back to being slightly tangled
*Scent is gorgeous - like the shampoo
*Conditions my hair fairly well, smoothes my hair and makes my hair sleeker

Negatives

*Does not condition my hair as much as I need it to
*Can rinse out of my hair completely
*Scent does not stay in my hair
*Full size product is really expensive!

Thank you for reading my review

Summary: A good product but no where near as good as the smooth infusion shampoo :(
