“ Brand: Baby Einstein / Type: Play Mats „
After searching high and low for the perfect play gym for my baby I chose this one which I bought from Mothercare in a sale. It was very easy to assemble and was quite sturdy too. The toys that you get with it are very cute and contain lots of things that babys find interesting, for example, crinkle noisy, rattles, lights, music etc etc.
The mat comes with a light up sun which sits on the top or can be moved about depending on where baby is. The sun can also be attached to babys carseat which I think is a good idea as its gives baby a sense of familiarity. There is a little mirror that can also be moved anywhere along with a few other little rattle/noisemaking toys.
I found the actual mat to be quite thin so I dont think it would be very comfy unless it had a rug or carpet underneith it. It was very easy to clean, once all the toys were taken off I just used to shove it in the washer and it came out like new.
The toy bars are high enough for baby to sit under if in a chair, and they are low enough for baby to be able to tap them if lying down. I did find though that once my baby was rolling he wasnt very intrested in it anymore so it only lasted about 5 months. I did, however, use the flashin sun on his carseat for along time :-)
We purchased this playgym for our son from TKMaxx prior to him being born- and I think we paid about £30.00 for it. The gym is usually available for around £40-50. The gym consists of a mat with two hook over arches to which are attached a variety of toys, includng a clear rattly sun, an apple shaped teether a mirror. The main toy for the mat is a sun that plays a variety of tunes and flashes lights. The tunes are activated by touch and motion.
We used to put our son on the mat when he was newborn and he would not do a lot apart from stare at wall, as our baby grew he started to become more interactive and enjoys playing with the toys. His particular fovourites are the sun rattle and the sun that plays tunes. Now he is four months old the mat I would say is too small for him as he can now manovre himself about either by wiggling or rolling- so he can often roll off the mat.
We were also given another playgym with a larger mat which he usually plays on but he seems to prefer the toys from the baby einstein playgym.
Although the mat is now not quite big enough it is good because it is transportable and it does fold down to put into the car to take to relatives houses.
Our son still loves the toys and I think they will have plenty of use, and overall the gym will be worth the money that we paid for it.
Baby is sure to be entertained while playing on this large, soft, Baby Einstein? activity gym. The 7 various soft and plastic activity toys promote baby's sensory development and can be repositioned anywhere on the gym.
