Advantages: The mat is very soft, easy to store adn has lots for your baby to look at on it.

Disadvantages: A couple bits of the mat are less comfy for your child to lie on.

The Jungle mat is a great play mat for your baby. You can buy it from Argos for £9.99. It is suitable from birth and measures 70cmsx70cms. The styles of the mat can vary.

The jungle mat is very attractive and bright and is made out of very soft quilted material. There are pictures of different jungle animals on it, each picture has something for your child to touch or see on it. The animals on the one we have are:

The Giraffe which has two ears that stick out when you touch them they make a crinkly noise.

An elephant which has a floppy ear, which also makes a crinkly noise. Behind his ear there is a small circle plastic mirror which your child will enjoy looking at itself in.

A blue monkey that's face is 3d and very squashy. I'm sure your child will enjoy using this as a pillow or resting it's head on if there on there tummy.

Lastly a small giraffe and a tiger which have rattles in, which are underneath the material. Your child will have fun listening to them rattle.

The mat is great as it is very easy to fold up and store. Or if you are going round a friend's house it would be easy to take with you. The mat is very safe as it doesn't have any small pieces. The mat has lots of things for your child to touch and look at so they will be using there senses a lot. I think the mat will also help encourage your child to move as they will want to look at all the activities on the mat.

The only negative thing that I can say about the play mat is that the rattles in the giraffe and tiger stick out a bit and are hard. So will be uncomfortable for your baby if there lying on them, if they fall asleep them move them off them.

But overall a great buy and very cheap.
