“ Brand: Bright Starts / Type: Bouncer „
My in-laws bought this bouncer for my son when he was first born and I was impressed with it. I am not sure how much they paid, though I have seen it for £20 in Asda.
The bouncer comes in several parts and is very easy to put together, the seat is wipe washable and the seat pad can also go in the washing machine, if necessary. At the bottom of the seat is a musical vibrating box that has an automatic 30 minute shut off, this can also be removed and is operated by battery. The arch over the seat comes with 4 little toys, including a mirror for your baby to look in, my son loved looking at himself in it. It also has a grasp link toy, it is very brightly coloured and contoured to fit your babies body comfortable.
The bouncer is designed for babies that can support their heads and up to 25lbs in weight. Your baby is safely secured in a three point harness that is easy to fix them into and get back out again. I found that I kept it secured all the time and just slid my son in and out of it. It also adjusts as they grow.
Overall my son and I were very happy with the bouncer there are only two negatives issues both with the musical vibrating box. My son would bounce his little legs up and down all excited and then I noticed that his socks were muddy, which is odd as we only used the bouncer inside, it turned out that he had bounced his heels so much that he had broken the skin, I took the box off after that. But when I first put my son in the bouncer and switched on the vibrating he looked terrified and started to cry, I tried it a few more times but he was not a big fan so overall that part of the bouncer was pretty redundant.
Other than that, he loved playing in it and eventually when he discovered how to flip it forward whilst still in it I realised it was time to move on!
Overall I would recommend this bouncer to others, as it is well priced, easy to use and assemble and gave my son lots of fun times.
My review is for the Bright Starts Sunny Smiles Cradling Bouncer
If you read my other reviews you will see the thing I tend to have a few of with my children are bouncing chairs. I use them a lot while doing chores and getting things done around the house and I feel safe in the knowledge they are comfy in there chairs. I brought this chair for £15 in the Asda baby event.
The seat does require some assembling but nothing complicated it was built within 5 minutes without the instructions although they are there if they are needed.
For £15 you receive a bouncing chair with a toy bar and instructions. The chair itself is blue and green and its has pictures of little animals all over it. The chair is nice and bright to attract the child. At the bottom of the seat is a switch to turn on a vibration that sooths baby. The toy bar attaches to the chair and has 2 toys on it a spinning rattle and a rotating mirror to keep baby interested. There is a large waist strap that holds baby in safely and the seat can be removed to wash. Its both light weight but sturdy.
Now for my opinion
I think it is very good value for money the chair is large and comfy quite deep to keep baby sitting right. The vibrations are an added bonus although it requires 1 c battery that is not included and in my experience they run out very fast. One battery will only last around a week and a half and that is with it not being used very often.
Also it says it is suitable from birth plus but we tried sitting Logan in there a few weeks old and it was too upright for him there was no way a newborn baby could sit in there comfortably. We waited until he was around 3 months and he seemed a lot happier to be in there and he loves the toy bar.
This brings me to my other negative point. It states that the toy bar can be removed with one hand for ease of getting baby out but to me its very difficult also it is to put it on. So we do not tend to have it on very often.
I do think this chair is good value for money for a simple bouncing chair which is what I use it for. The added extras seem to be the problem as they are the negatives of the chair but at £15 I can not argue the saying springs to mind you get what you pay for.
This was bought for us as a gift so we were looking for something in the £20-25 mark and we got it from Toys R Us.
The chair is relatively straight forward to put together and the frame stays in place with plastic clips. The fabric stretches over and fastens together with those clips on all baby products - the name escapes me! I chucked in on a rapid wash with no problems and the fabric has not faded at all.
The bouncer comes with some bright start toys which are interchangeable with other toys. The ones included were a plush turtle, a turle mirror, a round rattle and frog water teether. I am under the impression these toys are pretty standard although may have been changed in the last year.
There is a box which provides a vibration on the chair and also 5-6 tunes with two volume options. I definitely took the vibrate function for granted as it soothed my son so well!
I loved interchanging the toys with his play gym toys giving him variety although I am not sure how much he appreciated this.
I felt the chair was sturdy and easy to manouever. I felt my son was comfortable in here and felt safe leaving him in there.
Although it is blue I feel it is definitely a unisex chair. I would have no qualms using it for a girl. It was worth the £20 we paid and I was said when my son outgrew it.
I bought this item second hand for a rather bargainous £4! It was one of 2 bouncy chairs that we got and the other one was soon forgotten. This product is brilliant. It was used from around 3 weeks old and 6 months later is still going strong. It has a selection of tunes that can be set to 2 different volumes and has a vibrating option as well. It has 4 different toys on the front all with different textures, a mirror and a soft teething toy.
I put new batteries in it when I got it and they are still going strong, the chair gets used on a daily basis - usually when I'm in the shower and need somewhere safe for LO to sit. Unfortunately, he's growing out of it now as he sits up and it won't be long before he learns how to tip it up. Will definitely be keeping this for our next baby - a fantastic buy!
Mrs Bajiya bought this as a replacement for our first bouncer which Baby B didn't take too and what a difference it has made. The seat gives good and snug support and baby is very safely and easily strapped in. The activity bar has a four toys whixh to begin with baby B seemed to ignore but as he has got older we have both witnessed him progressing and taking a more active interest in these. At 12 weeks he began holding the large mirror and now he loves shaking the rattle and grasping the soft tortoise. One tip is to put the bigger toys at the end of the bar as a good wallop on the plastic mirror and it swings very close to the top of baby's head. It also has a music (not to loud or annoying) and a subtle vibrate option, which seems to help get Baby B get his head down for an afternoon nap.
The seat is suitable until baby is 11Kg and is easily removed for washing, Baby B had a rather runny accident in it. Price is reasonable (we paid £24.99 + pp)
This is a great economy buy for a baby bouncer. There are certainly a lot more pricier ones out there so I was a little unsure to start with whether it would be any good. I must say I am very pleased (as is baby who will sit in it for a good 15-20 mins at only 10 wks). The chair itself is like a cocoon - baby's weight takes baby snugly into the seat rather than being too upright. There is also the vibrating action which is optional - I put this on half of the time although my baby doesn't seem to react any different when it is on so I'm not sure if it is meant to soothe? The toy bar is simple and fun although on the negative side it comes off very easily (which it is designed to do) but I have had 3 grownups think it is a handle and hold it to pick the seat up only for it to fall out (the bar that is).
The seat cover also detaches very easy so all in all I would say definitely worth the money - it comes in at half the price of others and seeing as pricier ones have little more features than this I would say go for this - they very quickly grow out of bouncy chairs so it is not worth the extra expense for anything else!
We got this bought for us as a present and after the initial working out of how to put it up our baby loved it. the chair itself comes with a bar with four toys on, all different shapes, textures and colours for your baby to enjoy. The bar itself just lifts off easily and all of the toys can be removed and others attached or can simply be used for your baby to play with elsewhere. It also comes with a small box you attach which vibrates the chair and plays music. There are a few different tunes and 2 different volume levels for your baby.
The chair itself is blue with pictures of frogs, turtles and ducklings on it which is cute and rather aesthetically pleasing. It is also very comfortable and has a cushioned harness to keep the baby safe and cosy. It also comes with a frog shaped head rest. Its great to put your baby in if you need to do the tea or washing as it keeps them happy and entertained giving you some free time!!
We bought this bouncer from Toys R Us for around £20.
For that price you get the chair which has a vibrating function as well as around 5 - 10 tunes that play constantly on a loop until you switch it off. There are two volume settings for the music.
On the toy bar there is a soft turtle, a turtle shaped mirror, a ring shaped rattle and a frog water teether. All the items can be removed from the bar so you can either use them elsewhere or attach diffierent toys to the bar. The bar itself simply pulls out.
The strap to hold baby in the chair is nice and big so is comfy and does not dig in.
The chair itself is a bright blue with pictures of turtles, frogs and chicks on it. The chair does look very comfy and my little man often falls asleep in it (in fact he is in there right now fast asleep!!).
We used the chair from birth without the toy bar and now he is 2 months old he is really enjoying sitting in it looking at the toys. He especially likes the vibrating function.
The vibrating and music is battery powered and we have not had to change the batteries yet. We have used the vibrating function a lot and the music occasionally.
The chair is easy to put together (we lost the instructions and still managed to do it in around 5 minutes).
I think this is a great value for money chair for any baby!
A cozy bouncer for baby to relax and be soothed by the vibrations and calming music.
