      good product

I was given this as a gift by my friend when I had my baby.
The mat itself is about 1m by 1m in size, and made of a soft smooth material on top and a more rough material on the bottom. There is not much filling to speak of, so it is very thin and easily foldable any way you want.
The arches are actually long foam tubes, which are bent and held under tension by attaching them to cloth tags on the underside of the mat via plastic hooks attached to the tube. The two arches are held in the middle by a cloth.
It is very easy to attach and detach the arches, however the two always stay together because of the cloth at the centre.
It comes with four toys and a mirror made of something that feels like cardboard.
There are additional links for attaching other toys.
Now that my baby is four months and being more active the gym does frequently collapse on him, has not done much harm however.

      A lovely mat!

I recently purchased this play gym in Asda during their baby and toddler events for the reduced price of £16, it sells in Argos for £29.99.

It comes in a plastic case which has little velcro tabs so it can be used to store away the mat when not in use.

The mat itself is gorgeous, if a little on the small size. I had noticed in the Argos description it is described as a large, quilted play area. I find this somewhat untrue as it is quite dainty. Don't be put off by this though as there is plenty enough room for baby to lie on comfortably but I just thought it should be mentioned, after all this is a review of the product!
On the mat is a picture of a friendly looking lion in what seems to be a field with dandelion thingys! It's really sweet.
Coming over the mat then are two bars, one in yellow and the other in red, and hanging from these are four toys. The main one being a large bumble bee which when pulled plays little tunes, this hangs in the middle of the arch, then there's a rattle, a bead chaser and a soft water type teether all in nice bright colours, there's also a mirror which can be stuck on the mat itself or on the bar.

At the moment my son is still really little (6 weeks!) and is only now taking an interest in the toys, and by that I mean he looks at them and will occasionally make a grab for them! But I can tell that they are high quality toys and will last well. It also has an extra linkable ring to hang a toy of your own on.

I have washed it in the machine on a 30degree wash cycle and dried on the line and it was fine so it is machine washable!

It's a really nice mat and I am very pleased with it!

The biggest drawback however is that the bumble bee plush toy cannot have it's batteries replaced so when they run out that is it, it is no longer musical!! For this I will have to remove one star from my rating but other than that it is really nice.
