      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      It's a great hand-me-down, but I wouldn't have bought it for $39.95.

As with most of Baby Frank's toys and equipment, this Bungee Baby Bouncer was given to us by family who had outgrown it. This particular family have an American Dad and this is how they came to have a Bungee Baby Bouncer which as far as I can see, is not available in the UK. However, it is available to buy online for $39.95, but I'm not sure what the postage costs may be as it would have to be shipped from the states.

The Bungee Baby Bouncer is a bouncer which hangs from a door frame. You put your baby in the harness and they can bounce up and down and turn around in safety. The bouncer can be used for babies approximately 4 months old to walking age, and for babies not heavier than 25 pounds. We used our for the first time when Baby Frank was five months old, by which time we felt confident that she could hold her head adequately and make the most out of the bouncer.

The bouncer is only available with a purple harness. This is not particularly girly so would suit boys too. It is a dark shade of purple so does not show up the dirt! There is a clamp that attaches to the doorway frame which has a metal attachment place for a carabiner which is on the end of the bungee rope. The clamp is easily fixed on with one person and then the baby can be placed in the harness and clipped onto the doorway frame clamp by the carabiner. Because the bouncer attaches in two stages it means that you can use the it even when only one adult is present to set it up.

The harness part off the bouncer comprises the purple harness itself, two wooden dowels measuring 15.5 inches and 3.875 inches long, a black rope and a purple elastic bungee cord. "E and I's BUNGEE BABY BOUNCER" is written on the harness, and there are pictures and writing on the inside of the harness which tell you how to set it up. The harness wraps around your baby's tummy and is fixed with velcro and a strap. It feels very secure around Baby Frank's tummy. There are two 'crotch straps' which you put your baby's legs into; very much like a climbing harness if you've ever used one.

The harness holds your baby so it is impossible for them to tip over or fall out. It is able to be adjusted to accommodate your growing baby and different heights of doorways.

We have been pleased with our Bungee Baby Bouncer. It does look a bit makeshift but once you put the baby in it it feels really secure and Baby Frank loves bouncing around in it. I think it helps to promote her sense of independence as well as skills of coordination, balance and strengthening her leg muscles. It's really lightweight and portable so I will be taking it with me to entertain Baby Frank on trips to visit family and friends.
