Advantages: Its very comfortable and looks lovely
Disadvantages: The toys are a little to high
I bought this ELC Blossom farm play mat whilst I was pregnant. There are not many things a new born can play with but I thought she would love all of the dangling animals and that the bright colours would be very stimulating for her.
Since there is no picture on dooyoo for this, I set to look on Google for one. Whilst doing this I came across several different designs of the blossom farm play mat. Just to be clear the play mat I am reviewing is in the design of a chic. It has 3 different colours on the main part of the quilt. Yellow, orange and red. There are then two wings either side which are green with yellow spots. This chic is of a simple design with just a little face on the head area.
The quilt itself is thick and fluffy; this provides a lot of comfort to a baby. It's of a reasonable size it's not too big to dominate the room but it provides enough space for baby to play, and roll over once they reach that stage in development. It's not machine washable but I found after my daughter dribbled and was sick on it several times that It easily cleans with a cloth.
There are two arches that cross over at the corners to make four arches. These are bright and colourful just like the rest of the play mat. They have different designs on such as stripes and spots.
There are 5 detachable toys that come with the play mat. I can't remember all of them but they are farmyard animals such as a sheep, pig, chic etc. These are also made from fluffy and soft material. Some of the animals are just plain, but one of them has a mirror attached to the bottom so when baby is lay underneath it they can see their reflection, this is a plastic mirror so there is no danger risk. Another one of the animals had a squeaker inside so when pressed it squeaks, and there is also one with crinkly ears.
All of these animals are easily detached so that baby can hold them. They are also made from lovely colours such as pale blue, green, yellow etc.
My daughter loved this when she was a baby, and the arch's were easy to remove so once she grew out of them we just used the play mat. Because of the versatile colours this play mat is also unisex. Another thing which I used to do was add more attachments, any sort toy with a clip will do, my daughter used to love all of the different attachments.
The only problem I had with this was that when my daughter was a couple of months old, she couldn't reach the animals, they were two high out of her reach and this did frustrate her sometimes.
I would definitely recommend this play mat. When I bought mine it was £35 in ELC, but that was a few years back so the price may well have changed.
Summary: A lovely interactive play mat
