ELC Blosson Farm Sit Me Up Cosy
Advantages: Colourful and helps with babies senses and co-ordination!
Disadvantages: A bit on the pricey side, but worth it!
While awaiting the birth of the baby I decided to go and explore online some new baby toys and one that I discovered came from the Early Learning Centre. So after reading up on this in great detail I decided to give one of these shops a visit. I had told my son about it and asked him when he got the chance to have a look as well to let me know what he thought about it.
Well once in the store I spotted this Blosssom Farm Sit Me Up Cosy and I must say it did look very colourful, but amongst all the other toys and mats it didn't look as good to me as I was imagining it to be ( had been man handled a few times I dare say and wasn't looking in the best of health being a bit on the dirty side!). So I left empty handed and being my son had not come back with a reply I decided to give is a miss, also costing £30.00 in the sale instead of £37.00 it wasn't that cheap.
Well a week later I get a call from my son saying how my daughter-in-law had been looking everywhere for something similiar to this and that they would like it, so yes please!.
So off I popped into town to collect one before I went up to visit him. Well how wrong could I have been as this is really a lovely item. Available in the blue and greens that are in the picture, they also do this in a selection of pinks for a girl ( even though I think that the blue and green would be OK for any baby boy or girl!)s.
This comes in quite a small box which is handy and is in several different pieces, with 2 tubes that blow up ( like a swimming ring cut in half!). This can be used from birth up to around a year old. Firstly there is the colourful playmat that is in different sections with different textures and sounds. This is handy for laying the baby on in their first couple of weeks. Then you can move onto the next stage which is to inflate the rings after you have inserted them into the material pockets and blow up this is very easily done and you don't need loads of puff for this. Tie the two rings together to make a circle at the top. With the large Donkey head ( it does'nt look like a donkey to me!) at one end it is starting to look like a fun toy.
Next lay the playmat over the top and attach to the velcro on the rings, which will then hold the mat in place, you then have several little toys that attach to the mat, these come in the form of a flower shaped mirror, Buttercup Cow with bell sounds, Lavender Lamb with rattle sounds and Chester Chicken with funny noises. These are for the baby to stretch out and try to grab when they can support theirselves a little bit. At the minute my Grandson can only lay on this (as in the picture on Dooyoo!), but with time he will soon be able to sit in the middle when he can support himself a bit and the ring will help keep him sitting up without falling backwards or sideways.
Later when the child is nearing complete self support it can then have the two rings piled on top of each other to give a full support system for their back, which resembles sofa arms with the large donkey head on the top, so this can be pushed in a quiet corner for little ones to sit on the play mat and look at their books getting full back support. This truly is a great toy and is great to take when visiting friends or family as it only takes a few minutes to assemble.
Also when this is assembled in your own home it looks so much nicer than when it is sitting among lots of other colourful toys in the shop. This is definitely one of my best buys as the baby is using it every day. It does recommend that you do not let the baby sleep on this. The height of this is 35.5cm x Width 81cm x Depth 89cm.
There are a lot of different items in the Blossom Farm range to buy for when the baby gets older.
Definitely 5 large Dooyoo stars for this item as this will make a lovely present for a newborn baby that will grow with the child.
Summary: Worth the money it costs as it will get a lot of use out of it
