February 2006 and my daughter, Olivia, makes her first bid for freedom by pulling herself up against the sofa. Overcome with parental joy we decided that the ideal first birthday present for her would be something that encouraged these first attempts. So when Mr Historywitch made his next trip back to the UK with the car in April, he was under instructions to bring back a push along car or similar. He did, but he also brought back this little surprise as well. We set it up immediately (I have never been very good at keeping presents back!) and it was there to surprise my daughter the next morning. How did it arrive? It arrived in pieces in a box ... We inherited this from a friend when they emigrated and I am so glad that we did. I had never bought one as I thought that my children would quickly outgrown this. But this turned out to be untrue. This is a really nice piece of equipment and I would now say it is an essential part of the toy room. Luckily when we got this it was already assembled but my friend said she had a nightmare building this up so we just transported it fully assembled. It has a wider base than the top which helps with balance and ensures it does not tip over. The handle is coated at the top with non-slip foam and there is a padded mat all the way ... So from the age of about 6 months my son begins to bounce - bounce in his cot, bounce when being held under his arms, he just bounced (we should have called him Tigger)! So for his birthday, as he had continues to bounce for at least 6 months prior to this, we decided to get him a trampoline. My First Trampoline from ELC cost about £30 and was the perfect gift for my little boy who was able to pull himself to stand and balance alone. Setting it up was a two person job, the trampoline came as 4 seperate bars for the bottom, the handle and the trampoline cover. We found it relatively easy to do but for this age group I think it was important to build it ... Read the complete review

Since my youngest son has been born he has always been really active so as soon as he was 8 months and able to stand he would try and bounce on everything. We decided to but him the first trampoline for his first birthday. We purchased the trampoline from the early learning centre it cost £30. The trampoline comes with extra padding to ensure safety and a wide hand rail for younger children to hold to keep their balance. Once we brought it home it was quite straight forward to put together. It took quite a while to make sure it was up correctly before he could play on it. Once put together my son loved it. At first he would play on it all day ... Read the complete review

i was given one of these as a gift for my daughter when she was 1 year old. the thing is still going 2 years on with continued usage. its was very easy to put together and thats coming from a 22 year old mum so really its not that hard honestly. the bit i love the most is the skirt part that goes over the bouncy rope, its such a great idea.stop little fingers and toes getting stuck and hurt and makes it look so cool too. the handle is just the right hight and has really good grip thanks to the foam and yes tha is important as my little one found out after getting a bit excited and banging her face OUCH! no real damage and 5 mins later she up and bouncing ...
