“ Brand: Fisher Price / Type: Bouncer „
One item that we knew we would like when we had our daughter was a bouncer, firstly to entertain and stimulate her, but also to be a benefit to me, so I could set her down somewhere safe whilst I, for example, got the dinner on, or even just cleaned my teeth in the morning, whilst she is awake. We were fortunate enough to be bought this Fisher Price Precious Plants Happy Giraffe Bouncer, which costs £32 on amazon, although I think it is currently cheaper in Argos. One of the reasons I was pleased about getting this particular bouncer is that my in laws have a similar one that they keep at their house when the other grandchildren come to visit, and so I already knew that it was a reliable and comfortable seat. This particular bouncer comes with a vibrate button which you can switch on and off, and relaxes the baby, resembling the motion of the car. The only slight negative for me, is that I often forget to turn the vibrate button off, and so I am quite sore on the battery, although after a month of use we still haven't had to replace the battery, so it maybe isn't as sore as I expect. Although the vibration should help to soothe your baby, you can also rock the bouncer as well just by using your hand and I do this often when I am trying to get my daughter over the sleep when I see her eyes getting drowsy. This bouncer is covered in a bright colourful material with various rainforest animals in the background, predominately that of a giraffe. It is comfortable and importantly it is easily wiped clean when my daughter brings up a little mouthful of milk. The bouncer can be used with or without the bar that can be attached over the bouncer with three different animals hanging down. These little animals offer a baby entertainment and as the baby grows, they themselves can pull the middle toy which will then play some music. Obviously at the moment my daughter cannot pull this herself and to be totally honest, I don't actually use this bar because she currently shows no interest in the animals, but I know that will change, and I do try every so often to see if she will take a look at them, but at present, I make use of this bouncer by itself as a seat. The other animals that hang down can also be played with and have a rattle noise. The shape of the bouncer is also very good, as I have seen bouncers before that do not offer than bucket shaped seat that supports the baby. I can place my daughter in this bouncer, and now that as well as her head being supported, she is also safe from falling out, as there is a safety clasp which holds her in, plus the shape of the seat means she doesn't slide to one side with the potential to fall out. All in all, despite my daughter not being interested in the overhang bar at the moment, she certainly seems content to sit in this bouncer for a reasonable amount of time, as much as can be expected for a child her age. I can't wait until she takes more interest in the bar, but currently with the vibration she seems to love this bouncer, and it is a bit of a lifesaver at times for me, when I need to get things done and it isn't always possible to do so with a squirmy baby in your arms.
The Fisher Price Precious Planets bouncer is one of the favourite items in our home right now. Made by the ever reliable bods at Fisher Price it is a chair which allows you to rock your baby and to keep them safe and secure whilst you have to get on with everyday tasks. How big is it: When assembled it is 24 inches length x 20 inches width x 24 inches high, it weighs about 2.5kg-3kg so is easy to move about within the house, but not so simple to store easily. How easy is it to put together? The item comes with a number of pre built sections which you simply fit together as according to the instructions, you then add the visuals such as the seat cover and the animal play toys afterwards, we found the instructions simple and easy to follow and had the bouncer built in about 6 minutes, the instructions are worth keeping as I would suggest you probably want to dismantle it if you ever move home. How does it look? I think this item looks very cool, it has a white base of metallic holding sections to keep the item together and then the base of the seat is covered in a cushioned cover which is lovely and soft, it is very colourful with a picture of a lion a hippo and a giraffe on it, and the giraffes mane and ears are represented as pieces which stick out of the chair making it even more visually interesting. There is a safety belt to hold baby in which is bright green and moveable depending on the size of your baby, the cover is mainly blue, green orange and yellow and the overhanging bar with the toy lion, monkey and hippo is bright green. It looks really nice and doesn't fit with our colour scheme at all but is lovely and colourful. Is it safe? Yes, perfectly, you should always strap baby in and then you can either put on a vibrate button to softly vibrate baby in the chair, or rock them yourself by either pushing or gently touching the chair with your feet, it doesn't encourage being pushed too hard and the belt ensures baby is safe at all times. Is it fun? I think so, the vibrate option is nice for baby, we use it sometimes to soften them up and then switch it off and rock them to put them to sleep, the three toys are fun too, they hang in front of baby, as baby grows they will learn to push and grab the toys, each of which has a round handle. The monkey has a bell in, the hippo a rattle and the lion plays tunes when you pull its handle (2 in total) as well as letting out a pussycat miaow and a lion roar (neither are overly impressive, but they shouldn't be for little kids anyway). Our little one loves the animals and enjoys the songs, but really has taken a strange shine to the purple hippo, we are now scouring stores for more hippo toys to maintain their interest. Is it any good? It definitely is, the bouncer cost us £44.99 from Amazon, the only upkeep costs are 1 D battery for the vibration movement and 3 cell batteries for the music and animal noises, it isn't cheap but it is perfect for our little one giving them a space to sit and watch the world or just play with their hippo, we know they are safe and they do too. The seat is designed for ages 2 months to 6 months and we've got great wear out of it, the seat cover is machine washable when baby gets overexcited and it wasn't hard to put together at all. Overall, this is attractive, fun, well designed and appreciated by babies and parents everywhere, definitely a 5 out of 5 product from Fisher Price.
I received this bouncer as a present from work when I went on maternity leave. From day one of my daughter being at home she has loved it! It is safe to use from birth until the child can sit up on their own. The seat is a wipe clean but soft material, which is quite padded, and is shaped to hug around the baby. It does have a 3 point harness however I have not used it yet as my little one is not that mobile and she sits in it quite safely as it is quite reclined, and the sides hug around her. It has a cute cartoon giraffe and a hippo and lion on the seat, and is in cheery colours. It also comes with a detachable mobile over the chair with a cute lion and monkey with dangling elephant, hippo and bananas, that my daughter has just started to bat at. When you pull the bananas it plays lion and monkey noise or two short tracks of music. My daughter likes to listen to this but cannot do it herself. The seat bounces nicely and has a vibration, which my daughter loves, it puts her to sleep and she looks soo comfortable. The vibration has been on almost constantly for the past 2 ½ months and has just ran out of batteries. This chair is brilliant, my daughter can sit in is quite comfortably and safely. Its great when I'm making dinner as I can bring it into the kitchen and she can sit and watch me. My daughter will also have naps in this seat, and my other half asked if they do adult sizes of these for him as it looks soo comfortable!
When I fell pregnant with my son, I promised myself I would not go a day without a bouncer and I would make sure i had one before my son was born so that we had it when we came home. When I had my daughter in 2008 I brought the think pink fisher price bouncer and it is something we could not live without, she slept ate and practically lived in it. My son unfortunately is not so keen but I think this is due to him being a little boy and he always wants a cuddle. The chair however I am very happy with. Retailing at about £39.99 - £45.00 depending on where you purchase it from the chair made by Fisher price is really brightly coloured. it has a big giraffe on it and lots of other animals and comes with a bar accross the top of it with brightly coloured toys which sing to keep your baby amused. It has a metal frame and is covered in a padded material bucket like seat which is where the baby sits. On the front is an on/off switch which turn on the calming vibrations. Unfortunately the vibrations eat the batteries quite fast, especially if you accidently leave it on through the night (not surprising really) It takes one D battery which is a pain to change because you ahve to take the material cover off to get to the battery compartment which then has to be unscrewed. All due to health a safety I am sure but still a pain. The singing toys take 3 button cell batteries. The cover IS machine washable which is a result as when I had my daughter I sometimes used this as a feeding chair and it got very dirty. The chair is suitable from birth to a child weighing 9kg. A small child can be strapped in which an adjustable waist belt but for a young child it would be pretty hard to get out of so I just leave it undone and will start to strap my son in when he is moving about a bit more. I am over all very happy with this chair, I am sure we will get our moneys worth eventually, it is just that my daughter took to hers so much quicker and it was lovely for a bit of rest. I would highly recommend this product from this highly reputable company fisher price.
My 4 month old son has gone in this baby bouncer since he was a newborn and it has been our best buy for him! He absolutely loves it! It's so bright and colourful with pictures of different jungle animals on it. The main picture on the bouncer is of a giraffe and it has little ears where your babys head sits which looks really cute. The best parts is that is plays music and vibrates! To get the music to play you just gently tug on the hanging bananas and it plays either 2 different animal noises or 2 different musical tunes. The toys that hang from the toy bar are also bright and colourful and your baby will enjoy batting at them as he gets a bit older. The toy bar can be taken off if you just want your baby to sit in the chair without it and to put it back on it simply just clicks back into the chair. The 'Calming Vibrations' that the chair has are fantastic! The vibrations always send my little boy off to sleep and you can choose whether you want the vibrations on or off. Be careful not to leave the vibration on when your baby isn't in the seat as the batteries do run down quite quickly. The seat bounces well too and is suitable for babies up to 20lbs. It is also easy to wash, you can remove the cover or just wipe it down. This really is a star buy! It costs around £40 and i would reccomend it to anyone!
I bought this for my daughter from argos for 39.99. I believe at the time it was on offer with £10 off. I bought it while still pregnant and my baby went straight in it at 2days old. It was laid down enough for her as a newborn. The seat is recommended for use up until 9kg or until the baby can sit unaided. My daughter is 6 months now and still happily sitting in the chair. The seat was easy to assemble and is light weight. It has a vibrate function on which can be set on or off. It is a lovely bright coloured chair suitable for a boy or a girl. The seat covers remove to be machine washed, so if like me you have a baby that is sick a lot its ideal. The cover drys quickly as well. It is easy to put baby in as with a three point harness it folds right down so u can sit baby in the chair and then fasten them in with two clips. The toy bar which easily clips on and off has three lovely bright coloured toys on. One being a purple hippo which rattles, one being a monkey which jingles and the middle one being a lion which when pulled roars or plays a tune. The seat looks very attractive with the seat cover being mainly covered in a giraffes head with ears that stick up above the seat. When my daughter was tiny and still now she is older she will sleep in the chair so she clearly finds it comfortable. I have also found it an ideal place to sit her whilst i feed her solid food as it was just upright enough for her to take the food. I have also discovered how durable the chair is after my toddler has decided to sit in it. At 16kg it didnt show any signs of strain or anything.
We brought this chair for our daughter from Amazon for £20 (December 2009). It was easy to construct and it has removeable covers which can be washed. I have had to wash our cover twice and it has come out of the machine as good as new. I have however seen a couple of friend's chair covers which have blistered. To avoid this, perhaps it is best to stick to a cool wash...30 or 40 degrees? Another thing to watch out for is the feet of the chair which stick out proud of the seat and which I have nearly fallen over twice. Despite this - it looks a very comfortable chair to be sat in. It has a vibrate option which can be turned on and off and if the baby moves vigorously enough the chair will gently bounce up and down. The toy bar is removeable and if the ring on the central lion is pulled then it plays two short songs and makes two lion like noises. I don't personally find the tunes anything but catchy but I would like it if my four month old discovers how to make the tunes play herself soon!
Fisher-Price Precious Planets Happy Giraffe Bouncer ~ Age Range ~ This chair is suitable from birth until your child weighs 9kg or can sit up alone. ~ Toy Information ~ The Fisher-Price Precious Planet Happy Giraffe Bouncer is a padded, bouncy, vibrating chair which is brightly coloured and has a detachable toy bar. The bouncy chair has a removable, washable seat cover which has a big giraffe character printed on it with ears attached separately at the top so when your baby is in the seat it is supposed to look like they have ears! Either side of the giraffe are slightly smaller hippo and lion characters. The chair has a vibrating option which you can turn on or off and requires a D Battery (not included). The detachable toy bar is fabric covered and also brightly coloured featuring three dangling jungle animals with pull rings One rattles, one jingles and the lion in the centre meows, purrs and plays two tunes. The toy bar comes complete with the 3 cell batteries required to make it work. The chair has non slip rubber feet. ~ My Summary ~ This a very handy thing to have when you have a newborn! We got this when our daughter was 2 weeks old and she was not particularly interested in the toys which hang on the detachable bar but she liked the tunes they play and the vibration feature was an absolute God send for getting her off to sleep if she was restless! Now she is older (4 months) she loves playing with the toys on the bar and has worked out how to pull the one in the middle when she wants a tune played which then starts her off kicking her little legs and bouncing up and down in it! She still has the odd sleep in the chair but is not so bothered by the vibrations now, I think she just feels cosy in the chair as it is quite padded. I love the fact that the seat cover is washable, luckily we haven't had any cause to machine wash ours yet but its nice to know I can when I need to. The only thing I would say is a bit of a problem with this chair is that because the toy bar is attached to the chair if you are rocking it you have to be careful not to do it too hard or the dangling toys swing very close to the child's head. They wont actually hit them but it upsets my daughter if this happens. Overall I think this is brilliant item for young babies and would definitely recommend it. ~ Price and Where to Purchase ~ Our Fisher Price Happy Giraffe Bouncer Chair was from Argos and costs £39.99 *** UPDATE 15/04/10*** I am pleased to report that my little chunk is now 6 months old and weighs 17lb 5oz and is still using this chair lots every day. It still keeps her happy for ages when I sit her in it and she loves madly bouncing up and down and laughing at herself! The chair is still in excellent condition and not showing any signs of wear at all.
