Me and my partner had been looking at playmats for a while & could not decide which one to go for, they all vary so much in price & some have a lot more on than others, we desided we wanted a nice colourfull one with as much on as we could get.

After a bit of searching we found this on on the Argos website & loved it as soon as we saw it, think the giraffe on one side sold it for us.

This playmat is a very good size, it has a large multi coloured mat (which can be used on its own), it has pictures of monkeys, frogs, birds etc on it and also has a squshy leaf in one corner which is filled with noisy paper & various other bits that stick up for the baby to play with.

The arch that you attatch to each corner crosses over in the middle above the baby! One arch is green jungle design & the other is a rainbow which also has the giraffe attached to it (which holds the battries). From these arches hangs various animals (monkey, parrot, butterflies etc) they are all detachable so you can wash them or take them out an about with you.

At he top of the arch is a speaker & light system, it plays either melodies or rainforest sounds (which are very soothing). You have two volume controls and you can pick if you want it to play all the time or just when the baby hits one of the toys. Whilst the music is playing there are also red & yellow lights that flash onto the butterflies (not bright).

As well as the soft toys on this item there is also a parrot that holds a spinning toy, the main giraffe holds a safety mirror and a elephant that holds a rattle, so there is more than enough toys for the baby to play with.

This costs £54.50 from Argos but a word of warning , on the site they also say to buy a pack of battries from them to go with the play mat (Energizer Ultra+ C Batteries - 2 Pack), we bought these & when we got the item home & wanted to set it up we discovered that it actually needed 3 battries so we did not have enough (It dies say in small writing it needs three but we missed that part)

I think this play gym is one of the best we looked at and im very pleased we decided to purchase it, im also hoping that due to the size it should last quite a while. If you are looking for a playmat I would def recommend this one.
