Advantages: entertaining

Disadvantages: very large!

I kept toying with the idea of buying one of these for my daughter and just couldn't decide whether to or not. I was put off by the price and the size of them but I kept coming across good reviews and lots of my friends were buying them for their babies and raving about them. I tried a few out with my daughter in Mothercare and Early Learning Centre and she loved them! I decided I would give one a go and treat her to one.

She absolutely loves it! The type we have got is the fisherprice Jungle jumperoo which is the most up to date one so slightly different to this picture.
It is a cross between an indoor jumper and a walker except it does neither- it doesn't go in the doorway and it isn't on wheels! It looks like a walker as it is round and cumbersome like a walker and it bounces like an indoor bouncer!

The theme is rainforest/jungle so it is in bright red and green colours with lots of animals and animal noises.
The baby sits in a seat which is designed to look like a parrot and the seat turns a full 360 degrees. All around the seat is a plastic tray with different toys on including a spinning rattle with a crocodile inside... a set of 3 jungle animals amongst three lights, a humming bird on a bendy tube, a lion which jumps up if you press a button and another spinning rattle. Above the activity table are three large poles which aid the bouncing mechanism and are bright green so look like trees and from them are two birds that hang down and help the baby to focus whilst looking up.

There are three different settings- silent, animal sounds when pressing the animals and music/animal sounds whenever the bouncer moves or toys are pressed. There is also volume control which is always a benefit with kiddies toys!
When the baby bounces it sets the noises off which encourages them to bounce and play which then leads to strengthening their leg muscles.

What i love about this is the fact it is so bright and colourful. Often with girls toys they are pastel colours or with boys just different shades of blue. This though is bright red and green and so much more eye catching and easy for the babies to focus on. At first babies can only see bright colours so choosing something in pastel colours although may look nice for babies aren't as practical for them.
The age range for this says from 4 months and the padding on the seat is quite good compared to other activity tables/walkers so I don't worry about my 4 month old sitting in it. Her legs don't quite touch the floor yet as she is a small 4 months so i just pop my text book underneath and it's fine!

It's really very entertaining for young children and my daughter likes it not just for the noises and the bouncing but just the position- she likes to be upright so it's ideal. Other seats and things mean she has to be sat but with this she's up straight and tall so really happy.
The recommendation is that babies stay in it until 26lb so hopefully it's enough time to get your money's worth out of it but from what i've heard from various friends their babies have thoroughly loved it for a long time.

I think I would improve this myself by being able to turn it into a walker too so that it encourages walking as well as bouncing. This then would make it a real bargain if it included both.
I think the only downside is that it is so very large it takes over the whole room... but then again that's what happens with a baby! They take over the whole house within seconds!

Putting it together was also slightly difficult but we managed it! The instructions are hard to follow but if you study the way the one in the shop is put together yo can just slot it all in quite easily as you know where it goes!
It costs £85 which is the going price for this kind of toy. It is available from mothercare, toys r us and other toy shops. There are different forms of them too depending on which brand you go for they differ but do similar things!

A great fun buy! My baby would recommend it as she is always smiling away and mesmirised by all of the different toys to play with and things playing music and animal noises all around her!
