Advantages: great fun, static, cannot tip over
Disadvantages: Big
I purchased this from EBay second hand along with the Fisher Price Rainforest Swing when my daughter was about 2months old (I was a bit premature but it was a bargain!)
The RRP can be quite expensive at £99.99 however this is a product that quite often seems to be on offer. I paid £30 for a used one with the original box.
At around 5months old, I began to sit Lauren in it, she used to spend ages trying to reach the dangling animals, pulling on the different activities around. Some of the animals around the centre only needed to be knocked slightly and they started to flash or make music play. Once she realised this, I used to get a big beaming smile.
You can activate the lights and sounds yourself just by applying a little weight to the tray, the music comes on for around 4minutes.
Another great feature is that the seat spins 360degrees so Lauren could access all the toys/activities which a lot of similar products don't do.
It can be adjusted to three different heights and although it says suitable from 6months, it wasn't until Lauren was about 8 months that she could finally use it as it was designed to do. Once she could reach the floor, there was no stopping her, it was like those trampolines they have with the elastic on, bounce, bounce and bounce! Unfortunately, it was about this time that Lauren also discovered crawling and although she loved it when she couldn't really move; as soon as she could crawl she hated being restricted and wanted to come out after about 5 minutes.
It does take up quite a lot of room, and although it can be taken a part, it's still quite bulky then so we left ours up most of the time. However saying this, it is really easy to assemble/dissemble.
It does require 3AA batteries which are not included.
I think if I could get a cheap one again (and I was expecting of course!) I would definitely buy another one, if I was buying brand new, I think I would save my money but if you look on EBay, there are normally loads for sale.
Summary: Good item if the price is right
